Re: Tearing my hair out with disruptive child

Have you thought maybe about a diary/thoughts book for him to write out or draw in on a daily basis? After school, it may help empty his mind of what's waking him and gives you a chance to see what's...

Re: Child support court order HELP PLS DESPERATE

This is quite a common occurrence. I'm pretty sure it's the UK court you need to approach as they will be enforcing the order if he fails to pay whatever the Judge orders. I think you need to apply...

Re: Visiting Singapore for 3 days, do I need vaccinations?

Sorry, just to add (for anyone else reading this thread after the original posting) that MomosMaxiCabs are no longer trading BUT this firm has risen from the ashes (including the reliable Garko Lai):...

Re: Visiting Singapore for 3 days, do I need vaccinations?

Forgot to say too, not sure if you're bringing car seats etc with you, but I have found a very reliable taxi firm here in SG. They hire baby and child seats in their MaxiCabs (I haven't found anyone...

Re: Visiting Singapore for 3 days, do I need vaccinations?

Hi, We're Brits and we live in SG and have had a baby here - you'll be fine without vaccinations. Just have the usual anti-bac hand stuff on hand for when you're eating out and for using the toilet...

Re: Am i just homesick?

Hi there,

Have you tried looking on MeetUp for some Expat groups near you - possibly with some Mum and baby activities as these are pretty good for ice breakers with new people!? It may just...

Re: UK Passport Question

Just a thought, by divorce record, do you mean Decree Nisi or Decree Absolute, or was the divorce processed in the US? If it was processed in the UK, the issuing court keeps documents for 50 years...

Re: Airport Transfers recommended?

If you children are little and you are bringing your own child seats, then I'd say get one from the Land Transport desk when you have collected your bags [if you like your driver, ask him for his...

Re: Air fares for a UK visit

The skyscanner websites are usually pretty good - and I go through them, see if there's any point being a bit flexible in my travel dates (sometimes you can save a fortune), then check direct on the...

Re: Do you need a car in Singapore?

I've managed to get all the way from Orchard to Changi on the MRT with baby and buggy to pick up a visitor and all the way back on it too - but I make sure I'm never in any rush and am quite...

Re: CARES harness - anyone got one?

We purchased one of these instead: http://babybair.com/ as the turbulence can be pretty bad between Singapore and the UK but so far we haven't needed to use it as the straps provided by the airline...

Re: Do you need a car in Singapore?

We haven't bothered with a car and we have a 6 month old baby. We chose to live within walking distance of a very central MRT (Orchard MRT - and managed to find an affordable clean condo - which was...

Re: Does it get better???

We are lucky to have some friends on the island but within the condo, it's more of passing acquaintances. There are some very cliquey little groups and when you smile at them or say 'hello' they give...

Re: Does it get better???

We moved to Singapore last year. I was pregnant and at the time our UK families were in reasonable health. We struggled to find anywhere that was affordable and not out in the middle of nowhere,...

Re: UK Passport Question

Theoretically, if you have their birth certificates and your own, that should be sufficient but if what you have read somewhere on the passport application site suggests that you need a copy of their...

Re: Singapore "to do list"

Grange Road is handy for Orchard Road and the MRTs at Orchard and Somerset. With a reasonable housing budget you can get quite good accommodation around there and even if something is up for rent at...

Smile Re: Parmigiano reggiano in Sydney

Googled it and this is the first website I found: http://www.onsman.com/staffords/about.htm#whr
