Re: To Move or Not to Move??

Would still have to see the GP first for a referral, that's what I had to do for Bupa.

Re: To Move or Not to Move??

Not trying to be too contraversial, but I would say the healthcare over here is awesome... if you can afford it. Hurt my wrists playing golf, went straight to the specialist. It would have taken me 6...

Re: wildly differing quotes and policies to transport dog

Airpets were awesome for out 3 cats and 1 dog. I think it was 2300 pounds for the 4.

Re: Car Insurance Quotes

Actually. I realised today that the quote was for 2 cars and not one (I was asking them to price up different combinations of cars).

Have to say I am pretty damned happy with that.

Re: Car Insurance Quotes

Thanks both.

With the home insurance and car insurance I think this AIG service has pretty much paid for itself.

I definately recommend.

Car Insurance Quotes

Hey

Just wanted to check something. Just looking at getting a couple of cars and have been quoted $530 each for a Corolla, RAV 4 or a Prius per 6 months.

This is through AIG's TravelGuard...

Re: Living costs and getting work

Just to give an example against two of these points, which could be overly scary - I think these are highly dependent on where you move. I recently moved and have paid 1 months deposit (Illinois),...

Re: bringing my dog over to USA

Hey - we used Airpets - our animals arrived on Thursday.

They were brilliant. One of our cats got diarrhea and the vets wouldn't sign her off to fly on the scheduled date. We were really worried...

Re: SSN - Needed to Start L1B Appointment?

Thanks for the offer. I think I may just reach out to the lawyer the company used and they can let them know. I think all I need is an I-9, so they need to see my I94+passport/ visa and my I-797.

Re: Only 10 Days Vacation per year

I'm working for the US arm of a British company, and for Officers (basically anyone who works over 40 hours a week) we get 20 days, 5 personal days and all public holidays.

Re: Moving a cat from the UK to USA

It sounds like you most likely wont be moving back from the US, but you never know. I would suggest getting her a pet passport. It's easier to get pets into the US than into the UK, and whilst you...

Hey

Using my L1 for the first time tomorrow.

Re: L1 Visa Approved Now I have to go to the Embassy

I am all approved and have been granted an L1B. In the end was incredibly painless. 90 minutes from joining the queue to leaving the building (I had expected more like 3 hours!).

Re: loopyhels work visa questions

It's a big ask for the company to foot the fees, and then I presume you would want them to move you too. Either that or you pay to ship everything yourself and the costs are soon going to stack up...
