Re: MotoGP Phillip Island - wot no accomodation?

Thanks for that but all these search engines (including asiarooms) that show accomodation as available are in fact misleading. I must have booked 20 places in the past couple of months only for them...

Re: Moving to Sydney in September

No worries. Also worth sticking your CV on the www.jobserve.com.au site and activating it when you arrive, you can even send it to all the agencies from there anyway.

Re: Moving to Sydney in September

Don't worry, you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Most companies seem keen to employ people from Europe and the US as they are generally more highly skilled and work hard!

I flew in on Sat...

That would be OK if we all had Foxtel for films, but the reason I signed up for it was to watch Premiership football, Motorcyle GP and World Superbikes. It wasn't much of a saving to just have the...

Still, 1966, World Cup in Germany....maybe it's a lucky omen :-)

Cheers,

Re: Egg shareholders?

Yes, but this buyback excluded residents in Australia, USA, Canada and Japan. So we weren't given any option to convert to Pru shares. Can't sell the Egg shares either, as they have ceased trading on...

Egg shareholders?

When I lived in the UK I acquired some Egg shares. Checking up on the web it looks like for UK shareholders that these shares have been converted to Prudential shares. The offer wasn't sent to me...

Re: My friend from Oz has just left and here's her impressions of the UK

Just a few observations:

We have Pizza restaurants in Australia, we have free delivery as well, although they reduce the price for picking up yourself.
Parking in the UK gets ticketed just as...

Your baggage allowance is printed on your flight ticket. But that aside, why didn't you just put the extra into your hand luggage? And travelling with no money, that's not very wise, is it?

You can buy most of the European front loaders here in Oz. Have a look at:

http://www.goodguys.com.au

LG, Bosch, Electrolux, Samsung, even the aussies make them. Start from $450ish

Re: Motorbike purchase in UK or Aus ?

Yeah, had to leave the wife's MX5 behind as we had only had it for 9 months but it was just too much hassle and expense anyway, even if we had owned it for more than 12 months we wouldn't have taken...
