Looking at the visa information on DIMIA, I thought the cost of c.$30k was per application i.e. for main applicant and spouse.

I would highly recommend the Lower North Shore suburb of Lavender Bay/McMahons Point. For a 15 month stay you could have harbour bridge views and the rent is pretty affordable ($360 pw). Been here...
