One more point that the above posters didn't pick up on but which is very important..

If you are engaged you cannot apply Spousal class as Common law. You must get married first! Or.. renege your...

I got 6 months to land only with Spousal Class outland sponsorship, so it makes it quite tight in terms of landing. Lucky for me I have nothing here really, I lead a very buddhist lifestyle :D

It must be based on personal info and circumstances I think, or the whims of the person who gets your file? Very strange that there are so many differing timelines. I'm sure they could get the timing...

I did read one thread (which I cant find now) where they had to resubmit after it came up that they were engaged, which is why I asked. Dont want to have to rush a wedding because of bureacracy..
