It does not say anything like that. All it says is send your passport "as soon as possible. Failure to do so will result in processing delays"

It did arrive finally - the BIG BROWN envelope from Buffalo. I have a question though. I will be traveling Jan last week till end of Feb. So I cant send my passport to CHC. IS there any time limit...

Thanks for the reply. On another note, across all pages the STATUS shows 1 for CRIM while it is blank for SEC.

And under the case validity dates, CSQ/CAQ, PPT, SEC, DEC are all blank.

Am reviving this thread. So whats the status of the early 2006 cases. I am not sure what is happening here. One of my friends applied in the SW category in June 2005 and she received her PPR...

CAIPS notes question

This is for those who understand the CAIPS note codes.

What does this mean:
Paper file sent to :RO
BF File to: RO6 on 30-01-2006

Also some of the last lines within the notes read:

I called the number on the website and requested to speak to an immigration officer. Some are not polite but there was one who was.

As Andrew Miller mentioned elsewhere, its all election propaganda. Canada may be heading for a pre-Christmans election and all these speeches are to garner the minority support.

Based on my experience, it does not matter when you filed and what date your AOR states. What matters is what date the file is cosidered complete, i.e. medicals received, background checks complete...

I called up the Buffalo consulate today and they told me "we have exhausted our quota for this year. We will send passport requests to people whose file is complete starting in Jan"

Hmm... thats interesting. Actually, the MP's office gave me this information. They said all checks etc has been completed.

I am still waiting for my CAIPS. Should arrive sometime next month....

I just found this out today ... my BFD is 8th December. all documentation is complete...all backgrounds checks complete ... but have to wait for the BFD date .. Bummer!:beer:

I have known people who are here on a work permit in the IT industry (software) that have not gone through the process of HRDC approval. Look up the cic website for more details.

I am not sure why this rule exists, but it does. If one has a study permit or a valid work permit, then the spouse gets an open-ended work permit. Perhaps it may be to entice the couple to immigrate...

Was in a similar situation three years ago. The only difference was that I applied for my study permit by myself and then after a couple of months got married. When we applied for her dependent visa...

The issue is a lack of an articulated, well drafted communication, that tells me the approximate date (within a 20-30 day window) on when the decision will be made. Is that too much to ask?
