Re: Transferwise Experience / Working on Irish payroll in Canada

I'm not in Canada anymore, but I've been using it once a month for the last four years with no problems whatsoever. Charges are extremely cheap compared to the banks. The whole online process is...

Re: Westjet starting flight from Halifax to Glasgow in 2015

Re: Westjet starting flight from Halifax to Glasgow in 2015

The wonderful thing about Zoom was their well planned arrival and departure schedules into and out of Gatwick on their YYC service.

Arriving into Gatwick at 3am with the return flight pushing...

Re: Westjet starting flight from Halifax to Glasgow in 2015

Anyone who had the pleasure (?) circa 1980's, of flying with this long gone Canadian airline, would not have any qualms about flying across the Atlantic with Westjet in a 737.

Re: Post from Canada to uk

There is of course a common denominator between both Canada Post and Royal Mail going from not very good at times to quite awful more often than ever before:

Canada Post once had Moya Greene...

Re: Considering moving back to UK after 38 years in Canada

My ex wife resides in Worthing. Therefore its the last place in the UK I would probably choose to settle.

Good luck with your potential move anyway. It sounds like you have your...

Re: ex husbands permission to move (temp) with child

Well quite: If the OP were to tell a porky or suffer temporary amnesia to any questions at border control, chances are she could 'circumvent' the law. Very high risk though and should she get called...

Re: ex husbands permission to move (temp) with child

Some years ago, my ex partner (Canadian) and myself crossed the border from BC into Idaho for a short three day trip. We were accompanied by her two kids from her previous marriage.

Despite...

Re: UK border control

Just joined the party a bit late on this thread so haven't read all replies:

Whether, its Stansted, The UK, Canada, USA, there is no absolute average of how long you will wait in line. Its all...

Re: Castlegar BC, anyone?

If you plan on doing any flying to and from Vancouver in winter from Castlegar, best you have 'alternative' travel options on standby - Due to antiquated landing systems plus the surrounding terrain,...

Re: Kimberley & Cranbrook BC - Decent areas?

Kimberley to Fernie is quite the commute each day! At least an hour in decent driving conditions. Winter? Who knows? Most Cranbrook locals who work out that way at the Sparwood mines stay out there...

Re: Kimberley & Cranbrook BC - Decent areas?

I assume the OP has a job offer at the Tembec Pulp Mill? (Or whatever the company is now known as) There's little else at Canal Flats!

If you are struggling to settle in Port Moody, settling in...

Re: Places to visit in BC, recommendations?

The City of Cranbrook is an armpit. Basically, one long strip with a mall plus ugly retail box units of auto dealers, fast food chains & motels. There is a dreary aura about that whole place.

The...
