I would not rely on what they have told you.
I applied for citizensship via marriage in 2008, it is still being processed now,
However in 2009 they did grant me work and reside status, so maybe you...

He has never been to Spain, we will be moving from Barbados and yes he will need papers in order to work which take 12 weeks and we can apply whilst still here, it's while he's trying to get work...

Well I had my letter saying the same at beg of Feb, I have been married more than 2 years.
After paying the $800 I was told that an official document will be raised which doesn't take long at all....

I have now been married for 2 years to Barbadian and immigration are telling me I have another year before they will look at my situation!!!!!

I maybe interested in one of them. I had 2 cats in the UK and I miss them terribly.

Yes I have all my documents/receipts etc. I don't think there is anything to do other than just wait now.

Someone did suggest getting a lawyer to help push forward the citizenship...
