Yes, I suggested in post #4 that working for company was the way to go.
If the OP wants to work as his own business then that is where he will encounter problems.

I agree with that but some practitioners state that they do not accept a Carte Vitale.

France can be less accommodating than Spain with regards to expats unless you move to a Brit enclave.
Nobody in France speaks to me in English....

I have noticed some differences in electric installations in my French home.
It is a modern building and doesn't have ring mains.
The domestic consumer unit has more breakers than a UK equivalent...

Don't overstay your visa.
Otherwise you could be refused entry next time with perhaps a ban on re-entry for a number of years.
If you overstay once then they will assume that you will do it again.
