I would investigate whether L or EB easier to get Green card in US. I know L-1 to Green Card is relatively easy.
L-1 also easy to renew at the border once you are Canadian citizen.

The good thing is it is much cheaper to ship back to Europe. I shipped my car to Italy w/20 ft container for $2K and shipped back for $3.5K.Price is same for household items.Lots of empty containers...
