We did the move 10 years ago - how time flies. Although we are further up the coast and not in San Diego. I love it here. Very laid back, outdoors lifestyle, don't have to worry about the weather.

The reason for asking was because I wondered if he can be detained by CBP until he appears before a judge. Plus I'm not convinced that officers always act strictly legally.

I can think of two circumstances where you are born in a country but not have citizenship.

I wonder if in this case the officer didn't know that and expected place of birth and passport to match...
