Re: Estate Agents Stingy With Info

In our 3.5yrs in NZ we rented a total of 5 houses. Whilst most (particularly the last one) were large houses on huge plots of land in great locations with views to die for, from an insulation and...

Re: Estate Agents Stingy With Info

We never bought a property during our time in NZ so perhaps I have no real grounds to comment, but I never really understood the 'celebrity' angle of agent's marketing themselves.

Thank you everyone for the good wishes. It means a lot.

Things did indeed get better for us Psycho and even with the bumpy start, we have - on the whole - enjoyed our NZ Adventure.

Re: We're "Leaving (NZ) on a jet plane".

Ha, I wish.

Around a month before our 3rd little boy was born (May 2011), it became apparent that my business partner (UK Company) was, well, not being much of a "partner" and was trying to steal...

We're "Leaving (NZ) on a jet plane".

So, we made it to three years (in September) with vague plans to stay long enough to get citizenship (and the future immigration "doors" - OZ, NZ etc that having citizenship may 'open' for our kids...

Going back to the UK. Recommended Shipping Company/Quotes.

So... we've been toying with the idea for some time now... we've been here for almost exactly 3yrs and 1mth and have now made the decision that we're off back home to the UK.

When we came out...

Returning to the UK / Residency VISA / Travel Conditions

Hey guys,

So after three years (and a few days) in NZ we're now seriously contemplating returning to the UK permanently.

We have NZ Residency VISA's granted on 15/Jul/2011 with indefinite...

Re: Most unwelcome IMPORT to NZ

:-) You all know I'm just playing daft don't you? My wife recently mentioned one and all I could think of (having only seen grandparents using one) was that it was just another sign of us getting...

Re: Most unwelcome IMPORT to NZ

Perhaps, but the only people I've ever known to use a Pressure Cooker were my Grandparents (all three sets of them)... I refuse to entertain the thought of having one in the house for that very...

Re: Your attitude

1. I tried that. I really tried that. I quickly discovered that I don't understand the rules and now almost passionately hate Rugby and, despite having both played and watched it, I don't understand...

Re: Pampers nappies

Our local Pak & Save imports Pampers Nappies from the UK.

They don't last long on the shelves though so it helps to have an insider friend to give the head's up as to when they're back in stock...

Re: Hot chocolate V milo

Re: Blackberry Abroad?

Ummm, I can't remember what model I came out with, (I've changed since), I'll see if I can find it and check. But yes, everything worked for me just fine.

If your existing BBerry works, bring it....

Re: Citizenship timing 2012

It's entirely unnecessary to have to attend a ceremony. I'd much rather it be something that can be sorted either by post (preferable) or from opposite sides of a desk. No fuss.

I think you...

What is a Citizenship Ceremony?

Today there were some photos in the local newspaper of "New Citizens" who were posing with the Town Mayor.

I'm potentially interested in staying in NZ long...

Re: UK passport renewal from NZ

I agree.

Re: How does anyone afford to have a baby in NZ?

We've just had a baby (May) in NZ and also found the Maternity arrangements to be, erm, frustrating, difficult and confusing.

My wife is a teacher and though our experiences may well be exclusive...
