we got consesnt to let off our mortgage providers - the mortgage payment never increased at all.

we may have been lucky i suppose.

we also banked with the HSBC in the uk and opened an account...

you do save a bit more with a novated lease, but the APR payments are slightly higher, and you have to make sure you do the kms for the tax bracket you have said.

the fact remains 125k isnt too shabby, and dependant on how much rose water they bathe in they should manage just fine :lol:

if we knew where they lived and how often they went to the theatre and such then a more informed judgement could be made.

but the point still stands that 125k isnt a bad wage and they wont be...

you have to factor in paying for schooling if they dont have PR i suppose, but if they also get LAFHA then they will have more to spend.

2500 a month on rent can get you somewhere in a nice suburb...

the realtion to the american $ is a tricky one too. commodities are traded in it, the chinese and far east have lots of it, and the yanks need this to stop them going belly up.

however i would hazard a guess that signing a rentral agreement for 5 years is the exception rather than the norm.

generally 6 or 12 months; and yes im aware that you can get out of rental...

if you have a fixed rate mortgage then your payment wont change until the term is up.

if you receive a pay rise then your income goes up.
