Bit like me telling you that banging your head 5 times a day makes 0 difference to anything in life really..............and would be correct.

Also, Muslims are some of the poorest most hard done to people on the planet - Surely if there was a god that millions pray too out here, we would live in a lush green environment with food and water plenty full as against the infidels having all the best areas?
just read this post while on my way to the airport, but couldn’t resist to answer those dam silly questions.

Why do people bang their heads. Well, go to any military camp and ask the officer there why do your soldiers walk (march) in this funny way? Can’t they walk like normal humans do? See what he's going to tell you.

As to your second question, if becoming a Muslim means that you will automatically become rich and live a lush life then the whole glob will become Muslims overnight. That means there is no need for the human brain then. What you are asking for does exist however, but not in this existence!!

He's going to tell you it's a faster and more efficient way (in the absence of any other form of transport) to move a body of men from point A to point B. Where is the relevance to head banging?

Are they all brain washed or are they making a choice? I have asked similar questions of catholic women who loudly declare that they're catholic about how they feel about being second class citizens in that religion where they can never be priests or rise to the bosshood. They generally just laugh. I'm obviously missing something.
My sisters in laws all wear them through choice, they feel that it is the right thing for them to do, none of them have been forced by their husbands or any other male family members it is a matter of choice.

Why do they wear them? Why do they think it's right for them to wear them and OK for you not to? If they wear them to preserve their modesty surely they must, in their heart of hearts, think all women should?

I assume their husbands don't cover themselves up in a similar way....can you elaborate on why women do it and not men?

Not to tempt men...because men can't handle that.

Well, obviously they have to.
What gets me is that some men over here have no problem with , in fact, seem the relish in, being portayed as undisciplined oafs that loose it as soon as they see an uncovered ankle or shoulder...

Because I haven't built up the confidence to look beyond my own shoes yet.

I have missed you my angel of wit - where have you been?

Just like some women like to think their uncovered thumbs will get men all in a lather....

I really can't understand how women can truly believe they are so goddamned gorgeous that undisciplined oafs will lose it over them showing the tiniest bit of skin. Seriously, how incredibly beautiful does one have to be to make that happen? How incredibly naive does one have to be to buy that b/s?

I really don't think this is all the men's fault. Women have to stand up to this crap if they have any hope of changing it - not buy into the whole religious 'choice' thing and even encourage (sometimes forcefully) others in their circles to wear this rubbish. This is one reason for why I feel the burka should be banned - especially in countries where the equality of women is supposed to be a foregone conclusion by now.

That baffles me too. It seems to me, one plays into the hand of the other.
I do find it incredibly strange when one woman tells another to cover as not to tempt a man. Just as much as when a man tells a woman to cover as not to tempt a man. And then....are gay women tempted by uncovered women?
And how many people are tempted by covered women?
The possibilities of temptation seem endless....

It must be an identity thing. With covering representing more earnestness of the modest identity. Rather like blinged-out women (and men) who admonish each other for not making enough effort.
