And you want to leave...sounds like "A dream come true" for the "gents" outs there...lol.... funnily enough I said to my Oh a while ago....never mind buying a house when we are home again....I'd like an Audi, my brother has an Mercedes, SIL has an 4x4 Lexus and my nephews have BMW's...so an Audi was the only car that would be different...yep I'm just a shallow person at heart..... I'd really like an Aston Martin...but will just have to dream about that one...lol...might have to dream about the Audi with the expense of this move...lol...sounds like your going to have a great time...
As long as I can get my bike on the roof of a car that'll do.

[QUOTE=Tr1boy;8307204]Funnily enough I'm not into cars at all, never really have been. Much more a motorbike person. We've pre-configured the car we want on the website (A3 1.9 diesel sportback). I nearly pulled the trigger and pre-ordered from here but hung off as I reckon there will be a deal to be had when I'm there on the ground. We're going for an Audi because I wanted a European car here for ages but can't justify prices and running costs of Euro cars in Oz. We will buy a house around Xmas time once we've decided on the area we want to buy in (we both like Marlow, but that might have to wait a bit ).

Sounds like a great plan and I am sure it will work out just the way you both want it to....knowing myself as I do, I will do everything not to plan...Robert Frosts poem comes to mind...."path less trodden etc"...I get there in the end...just not the easy way I thought it would be ....lol...I never learn....well I do...but the hard way...!!

Re: What is the appropriate time frame for a countdown?
Nah, I was back by ten as I had a brick session in the morning (45 mins constant watt hillls on the bike and 75min in tempo run).
Didn't train today but been running around doing all sorts at home. Early am gym session tomorrow as the bikes are being prepped for shipping (one on the container and one on the plane). Have to take as much base and build as I can to the UK because the disruption is going to play havoc with with race plan programs.
Worth it though.

Me too. Lots of luck with the start of your new life in the UK and the race/s of course. Have you always been into competitive sport? I am hopeless at it. I did a modern dance degree for goodness sake. We dancers cry at the meer thought of sweating outdoors without mirrors!
