Re: What is the appropriate time frame for a countdown?
could I ask?..well I am going to anyway...did you solve the reflux problem...my OH has it and although fit and healthy he has to take medication....
I don't throw up now but did suffer a lot of problems with heat dissipation and vomiting brought on by a lack of gall bladder and other various missing bits for a few years. It's getting better but to be honest my attention was taken away from that as I badly herniated two discs in my back in 03 and struggled to run at all (or walk!).
I'm pretty light nowadays (compared to the last 5yrs) and the impact isn't as bad, but my sport and body have to be managed very specifically. I do loads of core work. I'm looking forward to training and racing in the UK as I can push myself harder in the cooler temps.

Not to 100% satisfaction no. I used to run fairly well (about 90min half marathon) and I ran 10k races pretty hard. But after the op I couldn't go 5kms without throwing up. Went to see a doctor who specialised in running ailments at NSWIS and he basically said either run LSD for quite some time or I had to take medication all the time and take two before a hard run. They tablets were $25 for 6 and I was going through an expensive divorce so I took the LSD option and took up cycling.

It'll need removing sometime in the next year or so as the amount of swimming I do will wear the tissue against it apparently. That's a job for post Outlaw.

We'll be in Zummerzet at first but have no intention of staying there. I love it there (actually I like Devon and Dorset more) but our careers pretty much dictate we'll be in the Sth East/ M3/M4 corridor. Having my wife feel comfortable is my #1 priority and she is definitely a cosmopolitan type gal and being close to non Anglos will help her feel not so out of place. I like to think I could do the whole Dorset thing, but if I'm honest I think I'm a bit too city centric these days.
Been in Oz on and off for 21yrs but have lived in 4 other countries and go home very regularly.

I did look at living in a city because of my job (airfreight have to be near an airport) but don't want to do that again, I prefer a little country town

No, it's full titanium. They said it wouldn't cause issues and I was sceptical but they were right. I was off the bike from April 5th until early Oct. The 5 busted ribs took the longest to really heal to a point where I could get my VO2 numbers back.

Wow must of been a bad crash...my dad use to have Triumph's and Nortons (my fav) but when my parents had me (3rd child) my Mum said....they have to go....a shame but that's life...And they went on to have their 4th and last child...."thank the gods"..lol....the TT Races in the IOM is something we would like to do....and yet in all my life I have not been on a motorbike....I also go swimming...a lot...my first love is swimming...so I do know the wear it can have on Shoulders....especially if your stroke is Butterfly or Freestyle heck even Backstroke.....will you have the "pins" out in the U.K...
Yep the screws and plate will come out in the UK and I have the make of plate and screws all written down so the surgeon knows what is in there but they told me most western hospitals use the same type nowadays.

Gosh time is flying by....I spent most of yesterday getting quotes for the accident my car was in on Friday....not my fault...honestly..lol..a Van hit me...drove off like a bat out of hell...left me shocked, the car damaged...a bit of a "show" for some but then everyone drove off...not a single witness stayed... I could only get 2 letters from the number plate and a guy came over to help move my car to a safer place....but alas he just got to the scene did not see anything...anyway not much I can do about it now except get my car fixed...another day in the life of ......well someone who is slowly feeling "cheesed off"..lol...A cooler day here in Perth 31!! and not a sole walking around the park oposite...as soon as it cools down we are outdoors asap....so it's off to the beach (about a 30min drive) to walk the dog...would rather be walking in open countryside at home but I try to make the most of what we have here.....before you know it you will be posting "Our first year....."
My Dads other favorite bike of his is was a BSA....? I could not remember which bike he had like that...but I must admit I do like the older style bikes rather than the modern bikes of today....just a bit more character...I don't like Harley's though.....I like scooters...Mod kind...lol....

Re: What is the appropriate time frame for a countdown?
Well I'm sorry to hear about your car accident, I hope you are OK? I've always been a sportsbike nut but unless the call of racing came back to me (unlikely) I'm pretty much at the stage where I don't feel I have anything to prove on the road and with the triathlon and cycling I doubt I'll ever have time to really get into it, so something with a bit of history and something that needs a bit of work appeals. I know a bit about older bikes but not much. I had a pre-unit T120 years ago (Triumph 650). BSA made some tidy bikes, the Gold Star got it's name from averaging over 100mph at Brooklands (I think).

Sorry Tr1boy....you're running LSD? Dear Lord, I know some althletes take a variety of muscle growth enhancers but LSD! How on earth do you cycle in a straight line?
On a more serious note...brilliant, you're both going 'back 'ome'
As I'm always fascinated in what motivates people, what exactly is it that's driven you & the Mrs. back?

80 Days
That's the amount of days left in the school year (I'm a teacher). Then hopefully shortly after I will be going home.............. It's more than 80 if I add up the weekends, but I don't want to make myself ill by counting them
