UK Migration has to stop
#136
I agree with open borders within the EU, which means that no limit can be put on immigrant numbers. There are a lot of people on this site who would agree with me.

I don't think anyone on this Forum disputes the fact that the UK needs border controls and to make decisions as to how many immigrants of whatever nationality of origin come into the country, we are an island with a limit in land space.
What is disputed here is your view that "the millions" already here have apparently ruined our/your life.

There is a difference between free movement between EU countries and unlimited immigration directly from anywhere in the world!!
(This particular part of the discussion was an expansion on another poster's problem with "The millions" and the "dangerous ethnic minorities"!!

Once again, increase in population without consideration to an improvement and increase in the infrastructure of the UK will place that infrastructure under immense pressure. Yes or no?

If, when mentioning Florida, you are referring to me, I'd like to remind you, once again, that there is a huge difference between, anti-immigrant, or indeed anti-immigration and anti-uncontrolled immigration. Using the 'anti-immigrant' slur to try and shout down debate is infantile and pathetic.
Once again, increase in population without consideration to an improvement and increase in the infrastructure of the UK will place that infrastructure under immense pressure. Yes or no?
I agree with the EU concept and ultimately with open borders, but feel it has been badly managed by politicians trying to do too much too quickly. But that's another thread.

Yes, I agree in free movement too. I don't see how you can have a viable free market without free movement of labour. Having said that, I don't have an issue with making benefits unavailable to new residents for a qualifying period.

I was born in rural Lincolnshire on a farm. On business I travelled all over the UK. On entering Cities such as Bradford and Leicester I was confused. I thought I was back in Asia. In parts of London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and several other Cities the police will not enter. Why? because of the ehtnic minority (as they are called) make it too dangerous.

Recently went to Birmingham for shopping and yes the railway station is awful , renovation still only half finished and the road dug up for tram lines but---- nothing to do with immigrants
We go to Leicester Belgrave area (the area many of THEM live) quite often, our Indian bank branch is there, spend the boring time complaining about the wait with other "ethnics".
Then a very good lunch and disappointment as the shops where I used to be able to get an upmarket sari to take back for weddings is closed, and no choice of anything else as those wretched 'others' now just integrate and wear western clothes!!

I do have a problem with the fact that, in order to comply with EU rules, benefits are also being withheld from UK nationals.

Because it was a such boooring place when I left it 40 years ago. Stayed there on business for a couple of months a few years ago and it's so much more interesting a place to be now.
