Thanks for the currency convertor - it is always a nightmare when I walk inot the Post Office to exchange my USD - I hate the pittance I get back. This does look better than it did two weeks ago.

He has given his email address to a few on here and I wonder if he is writing to them privately.

Rodney would never do that without updating us all. Perhaps he just doesn't have access to the Internet right now.

Safe travels Rodney if you check in and see these messages!

Reporting in from near NYC to say that yes, I see women wearing burqas. It doesn't bother me at all although I know it bothers a lot of women. As long as I don't have to wear one, I say live and let live. And since freedom of religion is what this country was founded on, it makes me quite proud when people can feel free to be themselves despite the fear mongers and bigots who are in every society.

Well folks, it is done, I have bought my ONE WAY ticket.

I have given up on the BA fare after haunting the site morning, noon and night since last week. I got some travel advise from a couple of experts on here who told me it was very unlikely to go down to that cheap fare again.

So there's a lesson folks, if you see a cheap air fare and you have the money, buy the ticket THERE and THEN!!

Ssoooo I have bought my ticket with Etihad, arrive into Manchester on 27th February 2011 at 06.15am, a wee bit early for my family I must say as they are not known for being early risers.......but that's OK I will be happy to sit outside breathing in the foggy cold air and wait for them to come and pick me up.

Now I am all jittery again and thinking to myself "What have you done?" - is this normal or am I just a wee bit crazy LOL!!

Congratulations! You have joined the rest of us scared, what-have-I-done, 'crazy' people on this site. When I got to Heathrow last September, the first thing I thought was 'What have I done?' - it is not a welcoming airport, long distances to walk, and not in the least bit beautiful - not like the US airports I have used. But...it is where we are, and it is home, and it is fine. I am so glad you did this, and you will be too. Remember - you have lots of company on this website, so keep asking the 'what have I' and 'what if' questions, and you will get instant back up from one of us. Many congrats Barb, how exciting!
OF COURSE you are "jittery," it's a huge decision and also a very brave one. To accept that you went back to Oz and gave it your best shot as still weren't happy....to face up to that unhappiness....to go back to UK and start from scratch...

a brave and inspiring plan! You know you have so much support here...we are all rooting for you. If you are crazy, so are the lot of us!!!!

Yay, good for you. I'm sure the jitters will be gone by the time you land in Manchester.
