Re: Broadchurch and Other UK TV Programs
I have just been watching all of the Above Suspicion episodes on Youtube. What a great show. I found the usual Midsomer Murders, Dalziel & Pascoe, etc. all getting a bit lame but this show totally captured my attention. There are 4 'series' each one a 2 or 3 part event. Wish there were more. Now I am going to have to find something else really good to watch. Any recommendations?
There is an uploader on youtube named NK MX. He gives his videos abbreviations so that they don't get deleted by the powers that be. His shows are all British favourites.

'Scott & Bailey." Cagney and lacey for brits? Well sort off. Grew tired of it towards the end of the last series.

I haven't seen Life on Mars so will find one and see how I like it.

IMO S & B is one of the best series in years. I love the personalities of the 3 lead female characters...the dry wit...the one liners. Also enjoy Silk...although I thought the last series wasn't as good.

Love Scott and Bailey. Don't bother with Breathless, ITV Thursday nights. Biggest pile of shite I have tuned into in a long while.

Just watched the last part of Benefit Britain 1949.
Somewhere between 1949 and today the system crossed the line between hand up and hand out.

Being abroad, I am catching up with TV series such as Downton Abbey 3 which disappointed me a little but I am discovering the Upstairs Downstairs series which are quite good

I'm watching Doc Martin online. (We'll get the latest series here in Aus next year I reckon).
It strikes me that the Doc character is becoming a caricature.

Borgen is back this week ... not a UK program, but on UK TV.
If you like European drama and don't mind subtitles, this series is excellent and not a gory murderfest like The Killing or The Bridge (though I like that stuff too).

Thanks for the reminder. I have set my TV to record it. I meant to watch the last series, as the reviews were very good, but it slipped my mind.

Dunroving, I am becoming very partial to anything from Denmark, Sweden in terms of programming. Sorry if you were disappointed in Spiral but I still love it and just may watch all episodes again. I rarely watch American TV anymore..

I have also stopped watching American TV shows (except re-runs of Frasier) as I find it all too fake. However, based on comments from others I do plan to watch Mad Men, one of these days.

On the contrary, Spiral grew on me to the point that I'm quite irritated that Netflix seems so slow sending me the next disk! (halfway through Series 3 at the moment).
