Good luck Tel8 - we/ I will be thinking of you. Taken that flight enough over the years. I busy trying to plan my Xmas flights in the Uk but cannot bring myself to buy as I really really want to be on a one way flight/ or cruise :)

Smile and be at peace no matter what travelling issues arise. Your going to be where you want to be.

Hi Tel8! So, it will be you and my hubby travelling home on Friday, he`s flying from New York. My fingers are crossed that the good weather stays a little longer.
Good luck. I hope your family in the UK look after you well. Keep us updated about how things go. All the best for your course, too.

Thank you all so much for the well wishes! I've made it back! I can't even believe it! If1, you must have worked magic, because the weather has been absolutely beautiful! I found that I'd packed far too many heavy winter clothes, and had a wonderful time shopping yesterday (and spent half my money but it was worth it!) to buy some lighter ones.

Jemima55- how was your hubby's flight? Mine was packed solid (not an empty seat anywhere) but I wound up next to two really nice ladies, and managed to get some sleep. A little jet lagged still, but I'm hoping to be back on schedule by the end of the week.

Yay, next stop classes
Ds had his first class today. only 5 students turned up out of a class of 10. So they'll all be getting lots of attention.

I think this is a great idea..and should be started again. :)

I notice the last posting was in November last year, so if anyone is leaving soon please post and get this thread started again. Let all at BE known when you're leaving, how and where and it gives us the chance to wish you Bon Voyage, monitor your flight (so we can all feel happy that you've touchdown safely back in the UK) and then come back to BE and leave a message that you've made it home. :D

What does everyone else think??

Bon Voyage Happyglow!

Hey Sally:)

Well arrived home Dec 18th 2012. We are currently renting, have bought a new home, won't be ready until end of June. Can't wait:)

12 year old dog endured the flight from Toronto - Manchester very well and has settled. She was one of my main priorities :)

My daughters have settled very nicely into their new lives, school is great and they are in lots of extra-curricular activities, for a small town, there is lots for them to be involved in. Hubby prefered his Canadian job, will i'm sure he'll settle more, over time - he loves where we live though. The view from the back of our new house is unbloked, hills, trees and sheep,(and only a 25 min drive to my beautiful Edinburgh) - a far cry from Canadian sub divisions.

I will look for a part time job Jan 2014 once my eldest has settled into her
1st year of High school.

All in all, good! best decision we made coming home - for now at least;)
