    >You're wrong. The food's improving, especially in London, but it's
    >expensive because of the CrAP

there has always been good food ingredients available for those
willing to find it, I imagine the OP is more concerned about
whining about restaurant prices than getting his backside over to
Borough Market, prices perhaps are high for the same reason
everything in London is expensive, which comes back to supply and
demand for land in a major business centre.

Its a perfectly good newspaper, the OP is the problem, don't make
excuses, we don't want him here.(assuming he has ever been here?)
although only a ill informed yank like him would think either
that The Gruniad represented UK opinion or that they were
suggesting someone actually shot Bush.

    > Remember the UK has supported us in Iraq.

*Tony Blair* has backed Bush, a majority of UK people probably
despise him for it, almost everyone is certain he lied to us.
Nobody here believes Iraq had anything to do AQ, although they
are clearly there now in good numbers, killing Brits, Americans
and local in good numbers. People are currently fairly unhappy
about The Black Watch moving up to Bagdhad to support US forces
under overall US command.

Yep, try the Lake district, Cornwall or west coast of Scotland.

You do get the opposite, Brits taking the piss out of US big
toothy smiles, so its probably "one all" :-)

By his name he may be Irish American who lives in a fantasy land

having read some of the pompous toned responses here, I begin to
wonder if the old thing about Americans not understanding irony
or any British humour might be true?

I never had a problem as long as they did not mix subject matter.

My wife likes "Murder One" just down the block from Foyles,
which is totally dedicated to crime.

PJ is a grumpy old guy who normally posts nonsense.

He has been on this group before. He tend to chase me
around the country side to find where I post so he
can counter post! He has posted on two other groups
recently in that regard and it is not the first time.

He does not like socialists.

Sigh. Drool. The thing I miss most living in France are English language
book stores. I'm making Amazon UK rich.

From Paris it is not too hard to "pop" over to London. We purposefully
return from the US through London, US books stores are relatively standard
except in NYC which has a large choice.

What we do do in the US is hit the used book stores. We leave Paris with
half filled bags and return full. Expensive.

The problem now is that our Paris apartment book shelves (all over the
place) are full and we have to convert and unused maid's room on the 6th
floor to hold books.
