It's so true!

 I thought he was funny. I never stay up late enough to watch the late night comedy shows.

My US teen loves Mr Bean it drives me up the wall! George Carlin not so much. Although I have seen a couple of his bits that had me cracking up.

Anyone seen the new and improved (NOT, in my opinion) Friends Reunited? Not very user friendly, lots of features and photos appear to have been axed. They're screaming foul about it on Facebook. I guess I owe it a great big Thank You from a personal standpoint having been reunited with with Mr. Curleytops there after 45 years but sadly it just doesn't seem the same for me. Anyone else got any thoughts?

Ah right now I know this is subjective to where you have been living, whilst I agree with his take on life in principle I don't find him very funny, rather like Rodney with Peter Kay.

I enjoyed the photos. Memories of my honeymoon in Torquay:lol:. I drove down from Bedford, 19 years old, Bank Holiday, bumper to bumper traffic.

Sorry Rodney but you seem to have become far too Americanised to even compare our two different kinds of humour. Please name me just ONE really funny American comedian/TV show? Because I cannot think of a single one..............

Barb you are not getting it!!!!
Please read my post again and tell me ----- where in it I was comparing British and American comedy shows or comedians,
If you read it properly you would see that I was saying that British comedy seems to have taken a nose dive about the same time as American comedy did the same ------ about mid to late eighties,
Today I believe that there are very few ---- or NONE sit - coms or comedians that are funny on either side of the atlantic
But in the 60,s 70,s and 80,s American TV (AND) British TV was very funny,

but for the past say 22 to 25 years not only has comedy changed in general on both sides of the pond, but in (MY OPINION) has transformed into a (VERY) unfunny experience,

Barb I fail to see how all this would even slightly suggest that over all my years in America that I have become very americanised

All right, Calm down, calm down!! ;)

Sorry for the misunderstanding Rodney, I just had to defend Peter Kay lol!!! We will have to agree to disagree because I love the humour here and is something I sorely missed for all those years in Oz.

Beautiful photos as always Rosie, I particularly liked the one of the lady with the fur stole on a hot sunny day.

Torquay was the very first place in England I ever saw palm trees.

Ohhhhhh my dear Barb, OK thanks for posting those few clips from u-tube,
I watched five clips in all, so here goes, the opinion of a retired 67 year old yankbrit ------ me :)
the scousers, ------embarrassingly terrible, and soooo not funny.

Jason Manford, he couldn't get a single chuckle out of me, and very silly,

Harry & Paul, absolute waste of space, very unfunny,

Harry Enfield, not only is he not at all funny ---- hes very stupid,

Now I must say that I have (NEVER) heard of any of these people ----- NEVER, but having seen them once I am absolutely positive that I would not want to see them again, and I certainly would never pay a single penny to actually see them,

Then I clicked on the fith clip and Wowwwww guess what I actually found him (VERY) funny indeed, never heard of him before either, his name is Reginald D. Hunter,
He was so funny in the first clip that I just had to watch a second clip of his and he did not disappoint me, ------- now before you or anyone come down on me for liking him just cause he was the only American in the five set of clips I watched ------- for at least 20 years I have not found too many American comedians funny either ---- with the exception of George Carlin and a few others like whoopi goldburg and robin williams, but not so much lately, its a crying shame George is no longer with us I think he was remarkable,
So thanks Barb for sending those links from u-tube, you have actually helped me find one person who is very funny in the 21st century :) :D ;)

Bee, I just got round to watching the clip you posted of Peter Kay on Parkinson. First, I used to love Parky and I had no idea that Peter Kay started as his warm-up guy. Second, I was just in stitches - Pete Kay is adorable! I thought the funniest thing was how much Parkinson was laughing. He looked as though he might wet himself

Don't like "the scousers" much - to me the Royle Family does the same thing but a gazillion times better.

One of my favorites is David Mitchell - I just love his repressed middle-class English frustration. Here's 'Dear America.'

Hi all,
We just got back from a few days in South Devon and I would like to let you all know how lovely it is in Devon.
We walked the farmland and moors around South Brent / Avon Dam, also the coast on a circle walk from Noss Mayo. We stayed B&B in a nice pub and met friendly people everywhere.
To break the journey from/to West Norfolk we visited Tewkesbury and Exeter coming away with nice impressions.
Regret no pics to offer as we had no camera, maybe these links will offer insight to anyone interested.

The weather was wonderful, low 70's F, primroses in flower all around.
