OK Doctor Martin is over now. It was the episode of his day to get married. Enough said.

We went in to Tea and Sympathy and ordered the English breakfast. When it arrived, our teapot was a William and Kaye teapot. The cockney waitress said 'we gave you the special teapot because you're one of us.'

I saw Tea and Sympathy on TV yesterday when they were talking about the wedding. Who knows, maybe I saw you Sally. :)

I think it's true that the Queen didn't meet Kate's Mum before the weddng but this is a load of hogwash. Harry and Kate are good friends, Edward's daughter was her bridesmaid and I have seen lots of photos of Kate chatting with members of the Royal Family, especially Anne's children and their spouses at Polo matches. Camilla knows her quite well so Charles must too.

Will likes to go and spend time with Kate's family at Bucklebury... have dinners, go to the pub. Probably a lot more fun than hanging out with his family and he wants to avoid what happened to his mother.

Think you are correct Bandrui...seems from what is reported that Will has a great relationship with Kate's family. It was said on one of the news programs that Prince Charles told Kate, that she was the daughter he never had.

I thought the wedding a lovely event and her wedding dress suited her to a "T". Such a beautiful bride. Will and Kate seem to be very much in love, good looking couple and seems the public is quite taken by the pair. I have to admit at times I was a bit weepy while watching the event yesterday. And was just utterly amazed by the vast amount of people/crowds that showed up as well. Put a smile on my face, that's for sure.:D Wish I could have been there.
Kate's parents/sister also received very good reviews by the press...seems they handled all pretty well.
I so enjoyed the hats!! Some were smashing and others like the hat(??) that one of Fergie's daughters was wearing left me in amazement! Reminded me of antlers or that a mirror should have been in the front of that thing. But good for them, they're young and just being their young selves I guess...or maybe tried to cause a little strife for their grandmother??
Can anyone tell me how some of these women kept these hats on their heads...the ones that either sat directly on their foreheads or fully on the side of one's head? How on earth would one keep it fixed to the forehead or directly on the side? Glue...tape?? Anyone know?

I even watched the rerun late last night on MSNBC!!

Agreeing with Chris and Linda, I think Kate gets on famously with his family as he does with hers, you can see the ease with which they greeted each other.

As for the hats Chris, there was a milliner on the TV and he said they have little metal clips on them which fix into the hair. My mum wore a fascinator for my nephew's wedding recently and the hairdresser put it in for her when she got her hair done.

Maybe the society ladies hire a hat fixer specialist. :D

An interesting little tidbit about how the upper table choose their wedding finery colours:

According to protocol though, the mother of the bride is offered first choice of colour for her outfit, followed by the Queen and then Camilla - a point which may have bothered the Queen, who is known to favour pale blue for Royal weddings, having chosen the shade for five out of the eight previous Royal weddings. Whether or not she was fazed though, one will never know, and the Queen looked resplendent in primrose yellow.
