Wow...interesting...I like the first comment on that clip. "the man doesnt' usually walk away, he bashes your head in and drags you off".

I could swear the voice of the cat is done by Rowan Atkinson!

I never had the magic markers, but I remember playing with all the other things you mention! I remember getting the paper doll books and taking out the dolls and dressing them in their clothes!

Anyone remember Paint-by-Number? I loved those. Anybody ever collect Garbage Pail Kids?

Oh my gosh, I had a shoebox full of Garbage Pail kids and used to trade them with all of the kids in the neighborhood. We took it very seriously. What silly things they were!

Now ... do you remember oily stickers? They looked kind of rainbow and the colors would swish around when you pressed on them?

I'm taken back to the days of listening to Ah-ha and Prince's Raspberry Beret while jumping on my friend's trampoline.

Black Jacks & fruit salads, yes 4 for an old penny (240p to the £1). Those were the days. Fish & chips were 1 shilling, fancy Skate & chips little bit more.

I didn't have the trading cards, but definitely had the Osmonds and Partridge Family records. I used to buy Tiger Beat magazine.

Metal lunch boxes with glass thermoses, yep, yep, had a few of those in my childhood!

Poppy Girl ... I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting that! I just spent the last hour or so following endless links in YouTube to 'flower pot men' videos, 'watch with mother', 'Andy Pandy', Captain Pugwash, etc ... I had forgotten all about those shows and it was terribly nostalgic !!!!! I can't tell you how weird it was to see something not seen for 50 years! And yes, so innocent ...

How about Play Dough and Meccanno ... and - possibly my favorite - Airfix kits (with that smelly glue that would probably be banned today!).

That's a funny one! Moral of the story - always do what your cat says, and expect a reward for doing as you are told

I remember in the old payphones if you tapped out the number on the two little black "nipples" in the cradle...you'd get connected for free and could talk for hours. Also worked on the phone at home when your dad put a lock on the rotary dial.
