You just have to accept that you're amongst the lucky few in this World to know what Sheffield is like and take it from there when you're slumming it in any other part of the World.

I will 5th that. If we ever do win the lottery we are moving the whole family over there for 6 months of the year, I would say the summer 6 months but as we know Sheffield has at most 2 weeks of proper summer...

My brother-in-law is from Bailiff Bridge -- and I went to BGGS -- but the Bradford version!

Wonder if I know your BIL. Depends on his age I suppose and if he was at Bailiffe Bridge Junior and Infant School when I was.

We used to call that BAGS, not really sure why now, it's not that funny and isn't even an abbreviation.

As far as I know it was started by the Eastfield crowd. They used to call us Brighouse Bags as we walked to school in our uniforms. That was when we walked up to Finkil Street for the first two years. Then it was the bus into Brighouse down to the main school and we didn't see them anymore. The name stuck though. Sometimes we walked into Brighouse to save the bus money .......... until those Ker-Chings got invented.
