Very welcome though. |

OK you heard it here and not a knee jerk reaction Man Utd will not win the EPL.
With essentially the same squad as they won it last year with one has to wonder WTF has gone wrong. Looking over the 1st team squad as posted on manutd.com this is my opinion KEEP ; De Gea, Rafael, Evra (one more season anyway), Jones, Evans, Rooney, Smalling, Hernandez, Lindegaard, Vidic (same as Evra), Carrick, Nani, Van Persie, Valencia, Kagawa, Buttner, Zaha, Fellaini and Januzaj The rest sell, swap, barter or whatever to get them away from the club. Id swap Ashley Young for a dozen Hollands assorted pies and steak puddings at the moment. I would hope that the twitter account formerly known as Rio Ferdinand would do the decent thing and retire. Lindegaard, Buttner are two players that I don't think most people would notice if they left. Leigton Baines would be a nice addition. The key now is to secure at least 4th to ensure champions league for next year...otherwise, a exodus of players and $ will follow suit. |
Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
Toon fans....bloody hell, 1972 is a long time innit? Oh well, better late than never
Manchester United slumped to their second home Premier League defeat in the space of four days as Yohan Cabaye's goal gave Newcastle a first league victory at Old Trafford since 1972. The home side struggled to break down the Magpies, other than a flurry of chances at the start of the second half, with Patrice Evra heading against the post before the ball rebounded against Vurnon Anita's arm. Newcastle struck on the break when Cabaye fired home Moussa Sissoko's cross. Robin van Persie had a header disallowed as Manchester United tried to respond, but Newcastle held on for a famous victory which means home form that had been cause for concern for boss David Moyes is now turning into a crisis. Man Utd 0 - 1 Newcastle FT Crystal Palace 2 - 0 Cardiff FT Liverpool 4 - 1 West Ham FT Southampton 1 - 1 Man City FT Stoke 3 - 2 Chelsea FT West Brom 0 - 2 Norwich FT Sunderland 1 - 2 Tottenham |

Pardew was appointed (anointed?) on Dec 9th 2010 so today was more or less his 3rd Tooniversary. Canny prezzie from the Lads (un bon cadeau des Garcons). |

I find myself feeling a bit sorry for AVB. Spurs and Toon have identical records at 8-3-5 after 16 matches, but Pardew is not in any danger (at least at the moment) while AVB is highly likely to be gone before the transfer window opens.

Your goal difference is also much better than theirs!! :p Not surprising since one of their best scorers last season wasn't even a striker, and is now doing about as well as Spurs are at his new club.
Three North-West clubs in the top 7 places, yet it still takes some getting used to that none of them are Man Utd. |

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread
and AVB is gone. Bit harsh considering his win rate is the best since 1899 or something.
