Things that make you feel old
#17
You don't need to be old to feel old.
I well remember revisiting my university town in my late twenties and feeling very old indeed.
It's the young doing those silly things that you once did and now understand how silly they were that make you feel old.

1. Jings...you must be a young-un Dundonian then. When I watched football in inclement weather (silly me) in Dens Park, across the street from United's Tannadice Park... Dundee F.C., not United, was the premier team.
I also used to take the overnight train with Dick McTaggart back to RAF Halton where we both served in the RAF...he washed dishes in the mess and I was an Apprentice.

2. That is so right...no matter at what age!

I just checked and he's still alive, age 82.

I've just welcomed grandchild #7.
We just celebrated my mother's 93rd birthday.
I qualify for the senior's discount in most of North America.

Interesting that many use sports or music as reference points. It's some years ago, but I do remember going into Virgin Records on Oxford Street and seeing Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album being promoted as 25th anniversary! I was like, WTF ! ...and that was a few years ago in itself.
Having said that, I think once you hit mid/late 40's you don't feel like you're getting any older. it becomes just a number.
