I don't think I'd have noticed had it been up the right way. How on earth did you spot that sideways?

have an eye for things that don't look quite right .. for when they could be something else when turned around (it comes from working with one particular company on user generated content) :p

May as well call it supper; duck tacos with guacamole and sour cream, a couple of shots of tequila, and 2 beer (as per Canada's Food Guide).

Oh how very much I miss a Kipper...I would possibly kill for a piece of smoked Haddock! We don’t have that here...we can get smoked mackerel...

This is such a very ‘rich’ area...but it gets transported off to other parts...but there are so very few people here who are willing to give it a shot locally, that you can understand why that happens.

These are the ones we get here; only the 1 good fish store has them and they're about $5 or $5.25.

I have frequently felt that I am so sorry that this is such a sequestered part where I live...but Caretaker has always, I have felt, been part of my living day...maybe not so much beer....

Yup.

We can get frozen kippers here thank goodness. I have a few boxes stashed .

This evening it will be half a small garlic and rosemary roasted chicken between us & plain boiled basmati rice with some pataks korma curry sauce from a jar. I can eat that as no spice and will add some dried fruit.
Also half a sweetcorn each & sliced tomato to use up what is left of the crop from the veg garden . I do have wraps but want them for tomorrow

Boil enough rice for tomorrow's offering.

Garden salad with cherry tomatoes, Romaine lettuce, red onion, pistachios, and balsamic vinaigrette, and a beer.

For dessert I had a delicious can of Okanagan Crisp Apple Cider.

My ground beef wasn't thawed out in time for supper yesterday, so I had sausages and peas and chips and gravy (meal of convenience), so today it's going to be something with burger in it.

Re: Teatime Choices

I made a 'power bowl' using half a packet of pre-cooked brown rice and quinoa as the base, then stir frying / steaming some yellow peppers, broccoli, onion, green beans and shrimp (still prawns to me, lol) and then making a mixture of sirachi and thai sweet chilli sauce with a bit of water, over the top. It was really good.. never made it before, but I was in a hurry and threw it together.
