I dedicate these tacos to San Cristobal de Colon, which was a damned fine bus line, back in the day.

Roast Duck Breast.

Re: Teatime Choices
Watching the weather gurus predict a massive temperature drop, I figured that a real fondue was on the cards. Hit the freezer, found Vacherin and Tilsit, but lucked out on Gruyère.
Leisurely drive early afternoon scored two chunks of shop-cut Gruyère, the real thing. Came home, it's still 21C  Bon, d'accord, fondue manana; raid the freezer, find two healthy portions of Cottage Pie, so sidelined those with ex-freezer spinach and optional Bisto gravy. Lazy day. |
Re: Teatime Choices
Good old lockdown.
Another selection from the Indian restaurant on skipthedishes tonight. Just me. Included was Chaat Papdi with Bhalla "A delicious combination of spices, yogurt, potatoes, and chickpeas with tamarind pulp and mint chutney, served over flour crisps and dumplings." Looked more like a dessert and was (correctly) served cold. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...f8b6ed534a.png I think it was one of the most delicious things I ever tasted. I had my fill of what I wanted but wanted to taste this. I almost emptied the container. |

Stuff I've never heard of; do you have to peel the lentils?; three chutneys?; tamarind extract?; jaggery/gud?
I'm waving the white flag before I'm halfway down the list. :yield: However many chutneys the budget allows.... And when you get hold of that jaggery, pound it gud. |

The Aloo Kulcha was very good. That's the next one for SD to try her hand at. |
Re: Teatime Choices
I had smoked pork and baked beans with home made bbq sauce on toast, and sliced tomatoes.

Re: Teatime Choices
I'm rather fond of tamarind.
Last evening was beans on toast as I was rather weary. We've had a bit of a few days. This evening I think it will be a couple of sausages that I didn't bother with last evening and maybe some sort of veg hash. I would make a fish chowder or bisque but have no cream or alternatives Of course I could do a Jamie Oliver and substitute the cream and alternative milk thing for something entirely unrelated ----- like tomato sauce. |
