New Brunswick placed the conditions for entry to the province from Maine, USA. It was able to do that independently of federal gov.

No, because having brought in high levels of border restrictions initially - with neighbouring provinces or Maine - the various covid level responses were gradually eased, by the province, as time went on.

For example, there was a period where the province required "good reasons" to be entering from Maine and then later reasons didn't matter but quarantining was required.

They wont let me post links, however google and you will find US elected politicians supporting this convoy, in addition funds are pouring in from American's, it looks like more American's are donating to this convoy than Canadians based on media articles from today.

If it was Justin Trudeau's father he would have called in the military to solve the matter.

Just watch me.....

Odd that biggest civil protest in recent Canadian history is stuck in the Random stuff thread. Doesn't it deserve its own thread?

Specifically the truck protest. There will be other far right demos and the related disintegration of the Conservative party will be problem for years to come, but these vehicles have been moved.

It's interesting that the protestors have co-opted a kind of Canadian nationalism and "freedom" in their endeavour. I suppose it's as easy/cheap to wave a Canadian flag as the Brexiteers found it to wave a British flag. And now the French are getting in on the "feeedom" convoy protests too.

I don't find it interesting, I find it to be Trump recycled, and I don't like nationalists. Usually I respect the milk truck drivers because they do have a "must get there" kind of job but today the milk truck was flying a Canadian flag so I gave the driver the finger. "Freedom", in this context, means "freedom to oppress". **** 'em.
