Yes it can. For me its the folks at work, they always do things, but I get why I don't get invited, just the pits still....

theres a big age difference you said? That's probably why. I do understand though. I was at my last place of work for 9 years and was rarely included in any social events. I put that down to age differences. The same applies to the neighbours who are all very friendly but you only see them outdoors! I'm socially awkward, I never know what to say. Always have been so but with many years if not being able to join in conversations I've lost the knack, the skill. If I do get invited somewhere I don't really enjoy myself! It's sad really. I used to pine for friendship and easy communication. Now I'm resigned to things the way they are.

I've only watched a few, as I find myself getting a bit uncomfortable seeing Pru 'on display' as it were. I can't quite put my finger on the reason why

I feel that she's very brave to go through with this kind of exposure, but still something doesn't sit right with me.

I have tended to watch episodes featuring canals that I have visited or even better cruised such as the Canal du Midi in southern France, that was one of the best holidays I've ever had. I've done a couple of others in France - nowhere near as good as the Midi - and a few in England around the home counties. Regret not having cruised the Caledonian, even more so since visiting Scotland several years ago.

It's most the age difference most certainly.

I'm pretty sure that's his taser; when the guy does get tased it's almost like he shrinks about 25%, but still makes another run for it. I call meth. Since this morning the Benny Hill chase music has been replaced with something less copyright sensitive.

Does anybody know what it costs to buy an elephant?
I only need it for a couple of weeks but it's about $5000 a day to rent one so I was wondering if it'd be cost effective to buy it and then donate it to a zoo after you're finished?

At that rate I'd go off and buy one - hang the price - then rent it out for $4750 a day...

Google is your friend.

"Asian Elephants from Indian state of Assam were being sold at prices ranging from $22,000 to $34,000 (approximately 1 Million to 1.5 Million Indian Rupees at the time). The price to buy a calf elephant was half the price of the adult."

That's in India, so you can probably add on another $1,000 for a plane ticket - possibly more if the airline makes you pay for more than one seat.

Trying to understand what brought on the sudden need for an elephant at 1 in the morning so googled Vancouver elephant rentals and surfed around a bit (it's unrealistic), but the scope of the related questions on Quora is pretty good... some are obviously related, some maybe not. They won't let you keep one in your apartment anyway and who wants to clean up elephant doo for 2 weeks?... and why do you need an elephant?

I was going to ask same, but figured that it might get a bit personal.

Thought a bit about a business plan based on Jingsamichty's findings.

Get the elephant, pay the airline seats.

Ask the elephant if a 3 day working week would be ok.

Cut the elephant 50% of daily rental profit - after tax.

Once the purchase price and airfare is sorted, let the elephant go on holiday with loads of pocket money, then he or she can decide what to do next.

As far as the Geneva hotel is concerned, don't bother, pop over the border to Ferney-Voltaire, save loads of Euros.

Don't go to Annemasse, it's closer but a hell-hole.

Gaillard is the place mentioned when Annemasse is deemed unacceptable. It's a suburb of Annemasse, equally bad, apart from the garden centre.

If he had 2 weeks of Asian weddings booked to rent it out for the groom to arrive on there could be money in it, but even if he found a beast and made arrangements for it in Vancouver he might face the wrath of animal rights activists and that could be messy. A more likely scenario given the hour of the OP is a fantasy about frolicking in the surf with an elephant. For some reason this comes to mind:
