She got into something that is making her sick. So very hard when our lovely pets are poorly. I do hope they figure it out quickly and she is soon on the mend. Worrying. |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
She is going to be okay.
It was a busy evening in the animal ER, and the angel light was on, so someone unfortunately lost their pet tonight :(

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
It was sad seeing the couple waiting to go see their pet one last night, you could tell they were trying to be strong in the waiting room. First time I have seen such an idea at a vet, its just a nice little glass vase type thing with some nice white lights inside, with a little note explaining when the light is on someone has lost their pet and are saying good bye.
Thankfully Charlee will be okay.

A huge relief. She is a lovely looking dog.
The vet sent home some sort of prescription food in a can with high fiber to help, Charlee is fed raw, and I did attempt to give her some, she smelled it and walked away from it, I put a little on my finger and she took some then spit it out.....Can't say I blame her, its not a pleasent smell at all, and she has never been fed canned food so not something she is familiar with. |

MrBEVS Dusty cat only really likes raw too. Vet gave her some dry stuff to try and help with her teeth in some way. She utterly ignores the stuff. If it is a high fibre issue then is there anything else that would help? Something she would like? |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I mixed in some pumpkin into her regular food, its supposed to help and she will accept her with pumpkin....

What a mix up.
https://globalnews.ca/news/5829859/w...WDNWJCg4aADuGs Seem's some babies were given a hair growth medication instead of heart burn medication. Seems the mix up was with a lab who mislabeled the medications. |

Sometimes Amazon offers accident protection plans on the weirdest things, like say foam disposable ear plugs. (actual screen shot i took.)

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
I want to be able to sleep, only got 3 hours Friday night, which I guess was technically Saturday morning since it was 4am to 7am that I slept, so by the time I got sleep I had been up 21 hours, and not looking like I am going to be able to get sleep tonight either.

If you want to sleep tonight, what are you going to do today to aid that prospect? Go out for a walk and don't come back until you've walked 20km. Don't drink any coffee, tea or fizzy drink, and have a cup of camomile tea (sleepy tea) before bed.

I agree, I did think 1/2 a sleeping tablet might help also. I don't haveor need them but MrBEVS does sometimes because of his thyroid issue. He can get a bit head boil.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
A family member is manic which is why I was unable to sleep, I would have otherwise slept like a baby.

One of the more unique new buildings in Vancouver, does kind of look freaky from certain angles.

Just grab what you can when you can then. Will still feel like jet lag though. |

Don't listen to these guys. Just pound a bottle of Espolon reposado tequila. You'll sleep like a baby. Just make sure you have the next day off. |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Had a hard down pour a little after 4pm today, I was driving home and sheets of water, wipers on high and they were basically useless it was coming down so hard, streets flooded, the parking garage downstairs flooded a bit as well. Crazy and one of the hardest rain storms I have seen in a long time.

In Regina $2 million gets you the NE corner of (what is arguably) the city's main intersection.
It was my old bar. :( https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/british...2b69884c4c.jpg https://globalnews.ca/news/5891140/p...lot-drops-235/ |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Fire alarm went off today, happens several times per year, for a system they test monthly, it sure goes off a lot for false alarms. No fire, the issue was in the parking garage, exhaust build up or something.
Fire Department though is quick, they are always here within 5 minutes of the alarm going off, the station is about 2km away. |

That downpour and the flooding was only in the downtown area ............ we only saw showers in the south side. I'm not sure how much rain the airport measured either.

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Sadly the medical profession is heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical companies - the side effects of some of the medications prescribed are worse than the disease or issue they are supposed to help.. it's always worth looking at alternative ways to treat things - not necessarily natural, perhaps other medications that may do the same thing, without the horrific side effects. I don't take anything without investigating and researching..
rxlist.com is good for seeing the side effects = and worstpills.org |

I have moved the posts discussing GERD/Acid Reflux into a separate thread in The Lounge forum. GERD has been discussed in several threads in the forums, therefore I will try to move them into one thread.
