Well chaos and havoc will probably reign in Southern Ontario tomorrow. An ice storm is scheduled to begin and move from Windsor eastwards to Kingston, beginning early in the morning and continuing until 9pm tomorrow. This will be serious stuff with probably many accidents, people hurt and injured and some possibly killed. I, for one, am fortunate insofar as not having to go out, so I won’t.
Much Good Luck to those who will be out in the storm.

-39, with a windchill of -49, ha ha ha. I don't hold out much hope for my van starting and I have to be at work on time today, so bundling up and walking could be in my future.
Edit: It started
, and I got to work in time, but it's a damed cold ride. My neighbour came out while I was brushing the frost off the van, and she went trotting up the sidewalk to catch her bus. I didn't call out because she won't get as cold waiting for her bus as she would riding with me this morning.

It is, and I do. As I mentioned earlier we've had it pretty easy this year, and could still use quite a bit more snow. I don't know firsthand what winter in the UK is like, but I'm thinking something like the first few pages of Kidnapped.

I did go out, of course, I commuted as usual. I did pass some wrecks and heard of some people being dead. Roads were closed for cleaning up and there were consequent traffic jams. One must accept this. If one moved to, say, South America, in order to be able to buy a nice house and lots of cars, one would be at risk of kidnapping and violent death. If one moves to Canada in order to have more material goods one is at risk of death by weather or road traffic accident. Life here is miserable and dangerous for six months of the year but, my, one can own a lot of guns and internal combustion engines.

I do not like being cold.
earlier this week my daughter, snap chatted me a picture of bare, snow free ground a plus 13 and a comment of 'This polar vortex is killing me 🤣'.
This was the morning the wind chill was -52 in Red Deer.

Hoping Sundays forecast is right. I need at least one snowy day each winter.
70 percent chance of snow in the afternoon. Becoming windy in the afternoon. High minus 2. Wind chill minus 13 in the morning and minus 7 in the afternoon. UV index 1 or low.
