Dear God, yes! Canadian etiquette (!) seems to dictate that you entirely ignore your knife, grasp your fork in your fist firmly and stab, hack and shovel away. And then dump any shovelling equipment on the tablecloth afterwards or in a heap on the plate.

OH used to be guilty of this but a short, sharp fork stab to the hand each time is sufficient to train this out of anyone it seems

The fact that my boos smokes INSIDE the office when it's bloody illegal.

Idiotic customers at work (my other work) who are the rudest people I've ever come across. Whoever said Canadians were nice was a damned liar!

CLAM CHOWDER that has NO clams in it!

I love Clam Chowder from all the areas of N.America, but the amount of times I have had it, and instead they substitute clams with bacon fat.

It is a cheap cop-out, as of course bacon fat costs nothing, and the texture is similar to clams but you're NOT getting what it says on the tin, menu .........

Yuck!

When the first person finishes their meal, and the waiting staff remove their plate before the other person has finished.

Never encountered this before living in Canada.

That drives me nuts here, too. They also then ask if you want desset while you're still eating , and if you say, "I'll think about it when I've finished this" they plonk the bill down.

You likely know that I'm no longer a big fan, but in 35 years of living in North America, I've never encountered any of those things.

Perhaps you should select slightly further up-market eateries?

That's because it's a foreign country. In the UK that would be rude, in North America to leave an empty plate on the table (in a restaurant) is considered rude and as poor service.

Which end of your boiled egg do you crack?

You'll have heard of the concept of fast food? After all it started in San Bernadino.

BTW, where in LA are you?

Siding.... Who ever invented it should be taken out and shot. It's hideous, i have it on my new home, the builder wouldn't build all my house out of brick....what the fluff is that about??????

Maybe it goes with cardboard houses .....

I miss living in a real house, with real walls and actual plaster on them.....
