Well it's encouraging from a trade perspective, but it's hard to see how Germany is going to continue to support the troubled southern economies and back more flexible economic and political membership for Britain. I think the northern european members are going to see Britain as a country that wants to have it's cake and eat it too.

Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it. Germany is happy to benefit from a currency significantly discounted by the other members of the currency group.

That's true, but then Germany is not considering leaving the EU.

USA has also given instructions for UK to stay in the EU so really that's it.

Do you think there are less jobs now than there was before EU open borders? If you did you'd be wrong.
Well it depends. Direct answer is more jobs. But lets flip it the other way. How many applicants per job were there before open borders? Not many as there are now.
A UK job posting is now potentially open to the anyone in Europe plus the UK. When originally it would be just the UK. More jobs, but a hell of a lot more applicants.

As is an EU job posting now potentially open to the anyone in the UK. It's not all one way traffic as you seem to be implying.

Except a very large fraction of people in the EU speak at least passable English, while few English people speak Czech or Polish. Also, there are many places in the EU where a move to the UK means a significant pay rise, while there are few places where a move from the UK does.

There are good reasons why you see millions of Eastern Europeans moving to Britain and don't see millions of Britons moving to Eastern Europe.

Was wondering how many Canadians (not Ex-pats) move to the UK?

Thought I'd "google" it and came across this on Religion:

In England and Wales, according to 2011 census figures, the number of Jedi had fallen to 176,632, placing it in seventh place, having been overtaken by Judaism and Buddhism, but still comfortably outnumbering any other alternative or mock religions.

In Scotland 14,052 people stated that Jedi was their current religion (14,014 "Jedi", 24 "Jedi Order" and 14 "Sith")

While in Canada, the 2001 census has 21,000 Canadians putting down their religion as Jedi Knight.

Things that make you go "hmmm"

Perhaps you're right. The British are arrogant, lazy bastards and have bloody awful schools when it comes to foreign languages. We should be proud.

The eastern europeans I've met in Canada all seem to consider the English speaking countries as the places that offer the best opportunities for them whether its the UK, USA, Canada or Australia. The advantage to someone British in learning Latvian say does appear rather limited.
