About the only turn of phrase I liked in said toilet-writing was his reference to "intrusive carnivals of public mourning." That's quite apt.

Couldn't agree more. He's an arse of enormous proportions and the piece linked is only marginally less self-indulgent than usual.

I thought the Brand thing was very eloquent - and yes, he often speaks from the toilet - and no, I could not fancy that. He just looks dirty. And not in a good way

As I remember, Andrew Sachs' grandaughter did very well from the publicity of the infamous phone call. Apparently she hasnt spoken to her grandfather for years.
Russel Brand may not be everyones cup of tea but he does have a warmth about him that I find quite endearing, even when you know he is being naughty.
I have seen him live and he is one of the funniest blokes ever.IMO

OK, I looked it up cos my suspenders were killing me-
Got bored reading as it was involving Chemistry, but it is a strip of magnesium that you can light stuff with but it goes fizzzzzzzzzzzz...or summit, my technical abilities surpass my social ones as you can see
