Re: ENS Visa (121/856) Current Timescales (Part 2.....)
My visa was granted yesterday - I am soo happy!!!!!
Lodged in Parramatta on 31 May 2010
Occupation - chef
ENS
The application was 'decision ready' - although our medicals expired January 2010. I guess we were very lucky not to have to re-do them.

Re: ENS Visa (121/856) Current Timescales (Part 2.....)
A friend of mine using a MA got the following from his MA (the MA got it last week from Immigration):
- EMPLOYER NOMINATION SCHEME VISA 121/856
The ENS visa applications have reached an incredible number recently so overloading the offices all over Australia, in particular in Sydney, leading to considerable delays in the process. The Department of Immigration has decided to give priorities to those applications certified by migration agent as 'decision ready', which means complete of all the documents. All the other applications will queue in order of arrival. Unfortunately this does not apply to complete applications lodged earlier. Currently the time frame for processing is about 6 months. The prioritised agents' applications are supposed to be processed in two days. This policy has been implemented a couple of weeks ago and I am not able to confirm yet that the prioritised time frame has been actually two days or longer, but it will be definitely much less than the official 6 months.
what does it mean?!?!?!?!? I have been stupid to not use a MA?!?!?!?
anyone else know about this???

I believe in case of a decision ready application, you don't have to REDO visa medicals because you pay like $450 for one person anyway

Re: ENS Visa (121/856) Current Timescales (Part 2.....)
Just called IMMI to get an update on my application:
The women said she could only give me a general update which is that is is following usual processing and that there is nothing outstanding at this time.
I ask her if it has been allocated. She said that yes, somebody is looking at it and will contact me if they need anything...
Does that mean I have a Case Officer?

Got it!!
I received the email yesterday and it was so unexpected after 5 months waiting. I did not get notified that a case officer was allocated to it at all, it just came through.
My timeline:
Lodged - 24June (Nomination and application together, including all documents)
Occupation - IT
Processed - Parramatta
Did not use an agent.
Good luck everyone
