Can anyone help? I have just asked a friend to sign my husband's photo for his police check form. Do you know if the 8 passport photos they are asking for in the spousal sponsorship/permanent residence application need signed?

I didn't have mine signed. It doesn't ask for it in the guidelines/checklist. The store I got them taken did stamp them for me though so it had the date on the back.

Hi All – after an insanely long time with getting FBI clearance (got caught up in Govt shutdown and postal service “lost” my application for 4 weeks!). I have finally submitted a full application - received in Mississauga on 22/11/2013. I am applying under married category. Husband is Canadian and we will be apart for a year this January. Seeing people’s timelines has given me hope. I think we are straight forward (married 9 years, two young kids) but I have learned that nothing is straight forward in this process!! Love it if I could get added to the spreadsheet – tks in advance and good luck to all.

I just got my COPR letter! ![Thumbs Up](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
My application for CL sponsorship took 7 months from receipt of application to COPR. We lost a month because I forgot to tick a box.
I just have 2 questions:
1. Living really close to the US border, is it easier and quicker for me to do a flagpole than book an appointment at CIC? And what will the flagpole experience involve? An interview? And what do I need to bring with me?
2. Can I start working as soon as I've flagpoled and come back into Canada or do I need to wait until my PR card comes? I will be working for myself so I won't have an employer.
Thank you!
Gosh I can't believe the wait is over and I get to stay here permanently! Good times ahead!
EDIT: PS - What happens to all those hundreds of photos, letters, emails and personal info we sent in with our application? Are they filed away in a dark room somewhere?

They don't all need to be signed. I don't remember exactly but I think we only signed 1 or 2 of them. Someone else is bound to know for sure though.

Hi there,
New to the site but just wanted to let everyone know the time frame of my application. I'm British and my wife is Canadian, we applied out of country via London office, application was sent in May 21st 2013, letter of permanent residence received November 27th, arrived in Canada December 5th.
Only problem is, at the airport the immigration officer didnt write my case number over my passport stamp, so when I went to get my SIN the woman told me I had to go to the airport and get an officer to write it in.

Ok. I'm a bit worried.
Checked ECAS and for "Sponsorship application status" it says Decision made. We didn't receive an e-mail, it says a letter was sent on 6th December. Is this a bad sign? Has anyone else had this and been approved?
Thanks
