Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London
Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London
Not correct. I assume you got an 'e-Medical receipt'. You do not have to upload this, the results of your medical tests have or will be uploaded direct by the examiner. Just keep hold of your receipt in case there is a query.

Did the Panel Physicans Office offer E-Medical submission? .. Did you have to take physical photos with you? If they are not e-medical capable and only do paper submission you may need to upload a copy of the receipt to show that you have undergone the medical.. I'll check the official word for you.

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London
Hi all
As background - my husband takes anti depressants. He disclosed this to the doctor doing his medical exam. we have received this reply:
Hello,
I received your results everything is ok.
Unfortunately, the file is blocked because the Canadian medical department has opened a new page, asking a recent opinion from a psychiatrist about your treatment and your current situation.
Thank you send me the report as soon as possible.
Yours
what do we need to get the psychiatrist to say? He won't be rejected cause he's on anti depressants will he?

Am I correct in thinking that there isn't a status online that says they've received the medical? Does it just go from "We've requested a medical" to "Passed" (or fail)?

The Panel Physician who you had your medical with should send you details of your appointment with the designated clinical psychiatrist. You can't pick one, they tell you who you are going to see. If they haven't I suggest you get back in contact.
Per: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration...2013.html#app3
4.10 Furtherance process
RMOs may require additional information to complete the medical assessment. This additional information is obtained through the furtherance process.
Panel physicians are responsible for the following:
Get a copy of your medical notes from your GP to take with you - or a letter giving a little background on what medications are being taken, for what reason / length of time and any other information that your GP may believe is important for the psychiatrist/Canadian medical division to know.RMOs may require additional information to complete the medical assessment. This additional information is obtained through the furtherance process.
Panel physicians are responsible for the following:
- Referring the client for additional testing or to an appropriate specialist for consultation (see sample IMM 5734 Specialist’s Referral Form in Appendix III);
- Selecting the specialist (the client may not select his/her own specialist, although the client’s previous medical records may be provided along with the additional requested reports); and
- Completing the furtherance requirements and submitting results to the RMO.
All they are going to look at is whether your husband poses a threat to public health or public safety - as a spousal applicant he will be excessive demand exempt (meaning they won't refuse the application even if it's believed that his medical condition could cost more than the designated annual amount).
I really wouldn't worry, it's not that uncommon.. just be straight forwards and answer questions truthfully without giving any additional information that isn't pertinent.

I've emailed him to ask if he needs to refer us?
_____
Consultant or specialist referrals
Panel physicians should ensure that:
consultants, specialists and facilities providing supplemental tests understand that the request for additional information is only for a medical evaluation in the immigration process, and not for therapeutic purposes or to establish fitness to fly;
consultants or specialist practitioners are currently registered, certified or licensed by national regulatory bodies; and
consultants and other practitioners are aware of CIC’s requirements, particularly regarding verification of the client’s identity.[/SPOILER]

Re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London
Thank you for this feedback. According to the website there is no list of registered approved specialists - rather the panel doctor can choose who they refer to? So if our panel physician has asked for my husbands' UK psychiatrist to provide the report, surely that will be ok?

My link and quote above is from the Government website and states that the panel physician has to make an appointment for you with a Psychiatrist of their choosing.. but it does say you cannot select your own psychiatrist .
4.10 Furtherance process
RMOs may require additional information to complete the medical assessment. This additional information is obtained through the furtherance process. Additional cost to the client may occur if e.g the initial IME was not done by the panel physician involved in the furtherance.
