Is there any end to this our dream on before the end of the first quarter of 2012? All our application is struggling to move to next stage with the CIC & CHC's promise of faster response but contrarily the processing times is climbing from13 to 16 to 20 months in less than six months period till date. I have observed those that their movement in-process since January 2011 but no medical request and those with medical done and submitted still the same story of stagnancy of no progress. What is really happening?

Can anyone be of help to progressive report. If you have any please do share.

Our timelines are almost identical - and unfortunetly the is no news for us either :(

Mine too - no news here but then it did say in our AOR letter to only contact them if heard nothing when you reach the 8 month mark from date of AOR - our 8 month mark is not up yet until November, so I would not dispair yet (although the waiting is not fun as we all feel in limbo).

But yes increaed timelines are not fun either and when looking at other peoples timelines in front of us it looks like its at least a 12-15ish months from AOR date to when they recieve medical.

We are hoping the whole process will be finished at some point mid next year :fingerscrossed:

Would hate for it to role into 2013!!!

Good luck to you all ;)

I suspect you may be a little optimistic expecting visa's in the first Q of 2012. We have been "in process" 9 months, add on another 8 months RBVO and we are at 17 months since AOR. CIC's average processing time is now stated at 20 months! We are still waiting for medicals and even if we got them this week we would be looking at early 2012 for visa's. I know there are a few applicants in the post feb 2008 (MI1) stream who have even worse times than us!

Its bloody depressing!! I hate being in Limbo.
Although we will not be ready to leave the Uk until mid next year anyhow and if we somehow manage to get them by the end of next year then I will be happy with that...

Oh well the wait contines, I really hope you guys get medical soon :fingerscrossed: at least then it will give us some hope behind you.

Everything in regard to FSW application seemed to be forgotten and dead as there is no sign of any minimum progress. Terrible!

12 months almost since our AOR and nothing has changed. My wife and I are seriously considering withdrawing our application. Having spent a considerable amount of money doing two recce trips over the last two years, we are of the opinion that we are not going to hear anything until at least the 24 month mark, and frankly that is just too long to keep our lives in limbo especially when one considers the global economy, which of course we all should. So sad as I have dreamed of the move for 3 years now:(

I feel your pain, we are on a very similar timeline.

I really hope that things start to move with the people in front of us as it will give us some hope of how long it may take us to move down in the queue.

Its so frustrating not being able to do anything but wait, we had a recce trip to Vancouver last week and it makes you really excited about whats ahead - but when???

Fingers crossed for everyone in the queue :fingerscrossed:

We know exactly how you're feeling and we're way behind you. We applied in the hope and anticipation that we would have our visas when my OH leaves the army in Jan13. Doesn't look like that's going to happen, so we're now left, living somewhere we don't want to be, but not wanting to move within UK for the sake of our daughter's schooling disruption, to have to move on again should our visa come through. We are so disheartened with the UK though, that I am seriously considering plan B which is to apply to Oz! As much as our hearts have been set on Canada, the longer this situation drags on the more desparate we are to leave and knowing we could possibly get our Oz visas within a year, is fast becoming appealing - we'd miss the snow and the canadian lifestyle, but hey, you get more annual leave in Oz to enjoy your surroundings:D

Good luck with your wait, and :fingerscrossed: it won't be much longer till you hear something.

Re: Timeline - FSW application to CIO in Sydney, NS

I heard back from my sis who is currently living and working in Toronto. She is there on the back of two successful LMO's and had applied for her FSW 1 in April this year.

Yesterday, she received her medical request! Amazing progress if i must say.

I applied in Nov 2009 - albeit on the old list - but her application is being processed in London too. Shows the preference for the new list as per the mails we received from chasers.

It will be 24 months next month since i originally applied, and i had to put on a brave 'face' on the phone with her, even though she could tell i was disappointed with the lack of progress on my case.

Judging from my AOR (July 2010) and the 20month processing times, i would suspect meds (really being hopeful here) in Feb/Mar 2012.

Keep your heads up all - it's a tough road, but i'm sure it will be worth it in the end.

Regards,

MS.

Blooming ecas keeps getting me, my address keeps vanishing on a bi-monthly basis, prompting an email from the tracker!
I have a job offer now, well, my employer has asked me to establish an office in Canada.
I doubt we will hear anything by May next year, if not then I will apply for a TWP to get over there and get everything up and running.
It still makes me laugh that the newer applications are processed first as a better reflection for Canada's labour requirements... Anyone at CIC read the HRDC reports? I think not!

Was about to start a new thread, then realised that this is more of a statement than a question.

As the whole process seems to have come to a grinding halt for those of us on this timeline (preJune2010), after months of frustration and irritation at this lack of progress or any kind of information....

I have started applying for jobs once again, in the knowledge that it is such a shot in the dark, and highly unlikely, yet..... with all this lack of movement, I can only do this, or give up on going over there.

We did apply via my OH years ago, and got as far as 2nd interview (video conference) with UBC, but all fell through when at the 11th hr, a Canadian was found for the role (fair enough).... But that proves to me it CAN be done, and I know of posters on here who have secured jobs whilst in the UK...

I have since gained a PGCE college level teaching qual and a Masters degree, so now I am applying for positions as OH is re-training in IT and his job is not so specific at mo...

We don't need to go over until early Summer 2012, but now feeling this will not happen without some pushing and hard work from us...

Anyone else thinking along the same lines? I read on a recent immigration email that the Canadian Immigration Minister was again concerned with the backlog.... But how will that help us? I look at the people still in the queue from 2008... (which we were once in, but our app returned as we just too late before the admissions changed - supposedy to speed up applications! Hah!).

OK - enough moaning and ranting - trying desperately to remain positive and forward thinking - but it aint easy!

Not wishing to rain on your parade but my wife, who is the lead applicant on our bid, is an experienced College level teacher, is multilingual and has Masters degree in Education along with other PG Diplomas in the profession. She has applied for many posts without success because of the lack of a Visa. Since our application the goalposts have changed and her category of employment is no longer a priority for Canadian Government on the FSW list, hence the length of time we have waited. Wish you luck but don't count on it

Thanks - We are in the same category then - as I am the main applicant as College level tutor, and we also got in before the rules changed (see timeline below).

I am not actually applying for Teaching positions (well, not yet, but won't rule it out!) - I am applying for more specialised technical jobs, which I have recent experience in (and of which I won't bore you with!) in the hope that I might be more in demand.

Anyway - it is all a game of luck. Realistically, it is unlikely, but not unheard of and there is always a chance so :fingerscrossed:

Good luck to you all.
