Timeline - FSW application to CIO in Sydney, NS

I would be grateful to hear of others' actual experience of the timeline between making an application to the CIO in Sydney, NS and receiving the email acknowledgement. I have followed previous posts and the Trackitt information but there does not yet appear to be much precedent information to assess the efficiency of the new system.

My own FSW application pack was received by the CIO on 17 June, 2009. As yet, I have heard nothing. It would be good to hear how other people are doing with applications submitted in say May and June this year.

Cheers

Martin

Hi

this is our timeline so far: All 2009

Application sent to Sydney NS April 6
AOR April 23rd
Request for 120 day docs April 29
Docs sent to London UK May 19
AOR from London June 11
Reviewed docs and processing July 14

Just waiting for medical request now!!:fingerscrossed:

Hope that helps it is for FSW application we are using a visa company in Canada so they obviously receive the documents for us and pass them on.

Best of luck

Check that your bankers draft was cashed is the only way but most people dont even get an AOR anymore

Yes you are correct our application was recieved 12th May in Sydney, 120 day email recieved on the 15th July. It seems to be taking a bit longer to get a response, suspect they are now being inundated with applications!

Thanks to everyone for replying. It seems that the CIO is becoming busier and that we will have to become more patient.

Please keep us all posted on progress. I will do the same.

Thanks. Looks like we are on almost the exact same timeline so let's keep in touch. I will check to see if they have cashed my draft, which I assume would be a good sign?

Just found out that they cashed my draft on 16 July. At least that means they are not sending it back!

And all from people I suspect that have found themselves on THE LIST.

I suppose it may come down to quotas as we progress ?

Sent mine on 17 June as well, have heard nothing back.

How do you check if a bank draft has been cashed?

Just ask your bank. I did that today. They said bank draft had been cashed on 17th July. The application was sent to CIO on 14th June.

Have you had an email from the CIO yet? I am trying to measure how long they are taking now as it used to be about a month but appears to be pushing out to two months based on recent experiences shared on this forum.

Oh dear! Have they cashed your draft? You read some postings referring to the paperwork being lost. Ours went off in early-May originally but they sent it all back after a month because we had not put N/A in a single empty box on the forms.

I hope you/we hear soon.

Nope, nothing at all to date. Just relieved to know the bankers draft has been cashed as we sent application by normal post so have spent the whole of June wondering whether CIO had received it!!!!

I have all info collected and waiting to be sent off. If you send documents off as soon as you get 120 day letter, do they review it any sooner or wait until 120 days have lapsed.

For us, they processed within a month of receiving the documentation, and we sent it back within 30 days of receiving the letter, so yes!

Congratulations, our full package is almost ready to go, just waiting on new police checks, as I am currently in the Uk on holiday I arranged for the police checks to come to me here.

Will leave the full package with my mother in law to send off if they have not arrived before I leave.....

Still waiting for my yes/no email from CIO. My FSW application was received by them in mid-June and they cashed my draft mid-July. I do not know whether it is good news if they have cashed the draft as they could always reject my application and cut me a new cheque!

Fingers crossed.

Hope it gets through the 3-day mail strike, and the subsequent backlog (they are not paying overtime anymore to catch up after a strike!) Over 75% of inland mail used to go through London hubs. Don't know what the percentage is now though!?

Mine was cashed around the same time. Do you know if that means anything other than that they have received the application? Do they cash those applications which they intend to reject as well? Maybe, I am being optimistic?

The first that is done is the package is opened, the payment is processed, before anything else.

Thanks.

So if they reject you then they must send a fresh cheque/draft back rather than returning the original?
