When I first applied for my job, my employer once told me that calling and following up with Service Canada makes them delay your application even longer. I've also heard of one person whose application kept getting pushed back every time his employer sent new applications (for different named workers) while the then-current ones were still on process. It's usually best to just wait for a result and not call them for anything.
