Ah thanks - I shall tell my friend this as she is from the UK so assumedly doesn't need one....

On another note I got a 'passed to CIC' e-mail this morning! Anyone know how likely it is to not get a visa after being passed to CIC?

It's such a stressful process, I hope yours comes through soon also!

Where you planning on heading?
I was passed on the 1st June, so yeah, hopefully mine will come soon!

I'm heading to Toronto on the 22nd. It'll be a photo finish with this darn permit, but I suppose I could enter as a visitor and pick it up later if necessary (I have a return flight within a few months so I should be OK here )

Im still waiting on my International Experience Canada Ireland visa and just got asked for my UK Police Cert on 14th June. I already sent my Garda check previously on 2/05/12 but because I spent time in England they sent me a document request for the UK Police Cert.

Here is my dates so far:

NOR 02/05/2012
Payment Request 28/05/2012
IMM1295 sent 28/05/12
Application passed to the Visa Section 31/05/12
Document request 14/06/12
UK Police Cert Sent 15/06/12

Unsure whether or not I will get through or if they will ask me to apply again under the British scheme which of course is too late now. Fingers crossed

Yes you are not a citizen, but you are a resident. The first time you file, you have to do it by mail. The 2nd time you can do it online. I used Turbo Tax both times.

My current work permit expires soon, do I have to go to the border a few days before and renew or can I do it on the day it actually expires?

Your choice either a couple of days before or on the day just have all your paperwork in order for getting the new TWP and not going out of status.
Dont forget the $150 for the new TWP cash or credit card.

Awesome, thanks. I'll go on the day it expires then as it falls on a Saturday. It's an IEC visa so no need for the $150 but I'll have all my paperwork order!

Could well be much quicker than that, we have had recent cases on the forum where it's taken as little as 2-3 months. There is a spousal sponsorship timeline thread, so that's where you should head to for any questions about your application and to see others timelines.

Just make sure you do an outland application whatever you do! Or you could still be waiting for PR in 18 months time.

Good luck.

Last tax question i promise...

Anyone know why when you back back on your online interview and change information, the actual refund figure doesnt change? will the tax people that process just see the information has changed and base your return on that? I notice theres a barcode on the app which i assume will just bring up all my info?

If it got returned, you cannot re-apply now. They do not hold a space for you, so sorry to say thats it! Just need to be more careful next year.
