Re: IEC 2015
During the 'identification' questionnaire, it asks
"Do you want to submit an application for a family member?"
Now we put yes, and on looking at the documents we would need, it says me and kids need to provide 'application for visitor visa (temporary resident visa) IMM5257'
Do you think we should select no, and follow your guide as to applying at POE?
And we are all UK citizens by the way.
Thanks

The CIC UK page was last modified today but there is no updates on ChangeDetection.com so I'm thinking they changed something 'behind the scenes' on that page and they're waiting for the right time to 'clip the switch' on the announcement.
I'm holding out for the optimistic thoughts.

Thanks for the heads up on the site change alerts. I'm doing everything I can to make sure I don't miss it!
Which sites do you have alerts on @David3627 ? Just CIC?

Re: IEC 2015
A minor irritation about this year's visas lasting 24 months: Does this mean we need to take out a 2 year insurance policy? This would be a cost I haven't budgeted for. I'm guessing if we take out a 1 year policy and say at PoE, "I'll renew the second year closer to the time," that won't fly and the work permit would be set to expire when the insurance does. A lot of 'backpacker' insurance schemes only last a year - 18 months as well. Any insight on this?

There are only a few places that will do 24 months, even fewer that would let you extend 12 months to 24, as is what I planned for at the moment haha. Nothing that lets you extend 12 to 36 that's for sure. Pissbiscuits.

I'm thinking I might take my insurance out last minute. As in...after I've got my bank statement printed.

Does anybody want to supply website addresses for those few companies who can do a decent 12 month insurance while I am in Canada? The majority stipulate that you can't already be there.

If you do a search on here, and in particular in the IEC 2014 thread, I'm sure you will find tons of info on companies that previous IEC applicants have used.
