Does anyone also know how long an employer has to advertise the job to be qualified for enough advertising? I remember seeing 2-3 weeks on some official documents but I can't remember exactly.

Atleast 4 months. And if they hace advertised on the Canadian Government's Job Bank with an NOC number then that will work better to your fsvour.

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
Hi everyone,
I am waiting for a LMO too and here is my timeline:
1) Provincial office where applied: ALBERTA
2) Date when application was POSTED: 16th october 2007
3) Date when they recieved the application: think the same week
4) Any correspondence or calls received by your employer in between, if yes then the nature of the enquiry and after how many days/weeks did you get an enquiry from them? Not yet, employer will ask for status after christmas.
5) Date when decision made or recieved? Not yet.
6) Employee is inside or outside Canada when the Application was submitted? outside
Phu... So we have to wait around 6 months, right? My future employer told me we will get the LMO within 10 weeks, but I think they were dreaming...

What on Earth happened to ScotandSara?
It's as useful to have people posting about failing to get an LMO and the reasons why as it is to hear all these success stories.

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
Hello friends,
I need the telephone of HRSDC Alberta's office. Did anybody already call for there directly?
My process is already going to 29 weeks (holy jesus!). Today it completed two weeks that it is "under review by an Officer." I admit that am being afflicted. My employer said : "We will be re-evaluating our staffing needs after we receive a response from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC)", because he didn't wait that will be long so much. I should be in Calgary in the month of September! :curse:
I and my wife are worried. It is time too much.
I suppose that I will only have announce after the holidays of Christmas.
Thanks

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
Hi, when I called HRSDC, the recorder said that they are currently reviewing the documents submitted in June...Mine was submitted on May 28 and I haven't heard anything yet. I'm also worried. I haven't been able to work for more than 2 months...with no pay and health care. I'm staying in Canada with a visitor visa now. I just hope to get some good news this year! I wonder if Scott has received the LMO...

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline
Just wondering if any BC LMO candidates have recently received any updates? My future employer (I hope) is using a lawyer who hates contacting HRSDC about my file. She says it just "annoys" them. After an almost 31 week wait I reckon it's a reasonable request? Not sure what the culture / expectations are around this. Also, is it normal that the HRSDC will contact the lawyer to let them know when the case is being reviewed by an officer? The wait is one thing, but the lack of willingness to disclose info compounds the frustration even more.......
would appreciate any advice on how to handle this.
