Just to let you all know. I had been waiting for my card now since mid July, when I got the approval letter. I received the card this morning, and it is showing as issued on the 7th of September. So I strongly assume this is the correct version of the card, and the system is now fully up and running again.

I received my letter of approval dated 8th July. As I hadn't received my card nor a letter saying I had to back again for the biometrics, I went into the Miskolc office two weeks ago and was told I could expect to receive my card soon.

Hi Sachina, like you I have filled in the paper documents rather than do them online and need to book an appointment to take the documents to immigration and get the biometrics done. Could you please advise which drop down option on the BMBAH appointments did you use ... submission of application ... or Biometric data recording ... or Receipt of documents ... I'm not sure which one to choose to make an appointment ! Thanks !

If you are taking the application with you then choose the "Submission of Application" option. It will then ask you to choose a date and time and which office which will be the nearest office to where you live. Once done and submitted, you'll receive an email confirming your booking.

Brilliant ... Thanks Sachina ... I just hope the nearest immigration office and a sensible time is available ! Update ... created account and tried to book an appointment at Zalaegerszeg ... the whole of September is greyed out and it will not allow any date to be selected after September ... but after refreshing three times, dates suddenly became available ... appointment booked !

I received my incorrect resident card few weeks ago and had a letter to go back for more biometric recording. Afterthat I received a letter to apply for my new ID card ( local document office) which I did last week and have now got it. I assume when they looked at my new incorrect residency card and address card my new ID card is ok?, we shall see.

My card finally arrived today. Had my biometrics taken , was interviewed and received a letter stating that my application was successful weeks ago.
Then had to upload my marriage certificate, then upload it again a couple of weeks ago and was told that I should receive my card in 2 weeks.

Are you allowed to tell us the interview questions?

I had my interview a month ago, was the only person there, had my documents checked, told to wait in the waiting area, heard lots of rubber stamping going on and was then called back for the biometrics ... and have heard nothing since, no letter, card, nothing !! All I can do is wait I guess ...

Did they speak to you in Hungarian or English?

Last Monday I had a telephone call from an English speaking lady at the Miskolc Immigration Department reminding me that I had to return my old Residence Permit, which I did today. When I saw her I asked when could I expect to receive my new ID, only to be told I don't need one as my new Residence Permit plus my passport is sufficient. She also gave me my "Lakcimet Igazolo" (address card) card back and said together with the Residence Permit this is all I need.
When I had the temerity to query this piece of information I was told in no uncertain tone that she was Immigration and of course it was correct
I'm still not convinced but will call in at Encs Kormanyablak one day next week to double check. Such fun living in Hungary!

She spoke in fluent English, fortunately ! She advised me before I left that my new card would be sent by post ... no mention of any approval letter ... it seems that procedures vary from area to area judging by other people's experiences. Interestingly, the first time I ever went there to get my residency, the staff were all in normal everyday clothing whereas this time the staff were dressed in blue rendorszeg uniforms ...

Photo of letter I received. It's clearly states to apply for I.D. card .... seems it's a case of going to the right place or getting the right kiosk!

It said nothing at all about the ID card on the letter I received from Miskolc, but a couple of months ago there was something about it on the Encs Kormanyablok website. I have to go in anyway to get my Vaccination card and I'll ask the fellow at reception who's always pretty helpful. I think you get the ID at the same kiosks as driving licences.
