Top of the form I have printed off says 'Application for permanent residence' but this is where it gets confusing:
Indicate the type of residence permit requested □ interim permanent residence permit (Appendix “G” is required) □ national permanent residence permit □ EC permanent residence permit
I think it is the middle one (National permanent residence permit)!

I think I will play safe and print off then fill in both forms and anything I'm not sure about I will leave blank ... it can easily then be filled in correctly whilst at the immigration appointment ! It's turning into quite a mission ... next on the list is to get a passport photo ... I have one saved already but now to find where it can be printed !!

It will be a new passport photo for me. We've got a printer and photo paper so might have a go at this. Worse case scenario is the B&W ink running out but if it's the colour cartridge we're covered.

I couldn't be bothered to fiddle around with printing off a photo, so went into the Kaiser Spar Centre Miskolc where on the ground floor there's a place where they do passport photos. Takes only 5 minutes and if I remember rightly costs around 1500 HUF.

Is it necessity to fill in the Autobiography part Appendix C? I've whipped something up and not gone into too much detail.
If not, I'll give it to my wife for the guy to read out at my funeral, not that I'm planning to drop dead yet.

I was told by the lady I originally saw that it's not necessary to fill it out.

In that case I'll give it to my wife for my funeral. I'm dreading being called a 'she' instead of 'he'.

It's quite confusing to know what to fill in and what not to bother with ... many things on the form from source of income through to address, number on land registry etc, they already have from applying for residency in the first place !!

I didn't fill in the land registry number because I couldn't be bothered to search through my papers for it. I wasn't asked for it either. I did make copies to confirm my income which is all in pounds sterling but wasn't asked to convert it into HUF. And I didn't have my fingerprints taken because I have an allergy of my fingertips which means the prints don't show. My application was still accepted.

Go figure!

I guess it's not so much of an ordeal as it is for a first time applicant but as is par for the course, it is dependent upon who you get to see at immigration on the day and how easy or difficult they choose to make it !!

When I first registered the guy dealing with me used to teach one my sister-in-law's sons so they knew each other. That made the process easier.

My experience working for NHS is just when you're expecting to complete a really good piece of work someone f56k5 the whole thing up by saying the data input had been corrupted so the figures are zhit3! Maybe they get days like that.

May vary by regional office but in the Kaposvar Office, I lost the thing when I submitted my last renewal application and had to write one up in their lobby before I left. It does not have to be like whole life biography but generally just a few things including why you moved to Hungary your marital status, educational background and maybe the fact your retired from your last employment or that your a student, entrepeneur, etc etc. I used one sheet of paper on one side and they were happy with that. Don't sweat the details. It is not that important IMHO.

I'm curious if anyone on here has received their new residency card in the last few weeks? And how long you had to wait after receiving your approval.

I am now at nearly 6 weeks since I got my letter of approval and still waiting due to this unspecified problem at the company who produce the cards. I have no idea if the problem is still happening, which would be crazy, or if they are simply working back a massive backlog.
