Rupee exchange rate - a week or so ago it was over 88, yesterday I got just over 85, and today to rub salt in the wound the bank emailled me with a special offer of an extra 15 paisa on exchange starting today.

Never again, ever!! with British Airways.
Boarded our flight at 9.0pm, 2 hours later finally told "plane going nowhere". 3 mechanical problems!!! Now 12.30am OH in the queue with our food vouchers then sometime or other? to a hotel.
New flight at 4PM this afternoon.
So of course missed our Goa flight, will have to rebook on some flight or other.
This is the second time this has happened to us, OH was so keen to use BA in case Jet went same way as other Indian Airlines, but never again.

Your entitled to compensation under EU rules.I think they have to cough up around £200 each. You wouldn't have a got a bent Rupee of Jet Airways though.

Look on the positive side Bipat - Complementary meals, free hotel accommodation and an additional two hundred pounds by way of apology! Any way better they fix it at the airport than realise its broken in the air!

I'd be p****d off as well!

I'd be p****d off as well. Although in very sad circumstances we flew home with BA last season from Goa, first class !! what a way to travel. But even first class passangers would be in your position - the plane not going anywhere. Enjoy your stay in Goa.

What £200 pounds?? It has cost us extra £100 to rebook by phone our return Jet flights to Goa. (But as usual Jet were helpful).

Maybe they could have found the faults before we boarded. Hope it is a different plane this time.
Premier Inn, not that great, international phone calls so difficult (we had to alert rels. due to meet us). No signal in hotel.
Anyway now back at Heathrow.

Thanks Noni, we are going to karwar first to sort out the aftermath of our burglary, B-and S-inlaw already arrived. Builder has fixed steel doors and taps on (plastic this time). Need to replace cooking utensils etc.
We will be really glad to go to Goa on 9th.

You have to.....CLAIM, they do not have it waiting for you in an envelope with a pretty ribbon on it when you eventually board your delayed flight.

IMHO (as Andy would say), BA are cr@p, and an embarrassment to Great Britain...................but then they have been for over 30 years

When this happened to us we got the hotel and free cr@p meals but no £200 - no-one in BA who would listen to our complaints let alone accept a claim for compensation!
