Some of the vested interests seem to think that visa-on-arrival is definitely going to happen soonish.

according to the yet to be published BJP manifesto: FDI [in retail] is to be banned; according to the BJP president [illegal] Bangladeshis will be deported; according to extant BJP/RSS dogma non-Hindus are not recognised as citizens; take your own view on the likely attitude of any future BJP/RSS government towards ferenghis. AndyD 8-)₹ Is that really likely? When Muslim vote is very much needed?? Just very quickly skimmed part of the manifesto. "India constitutes all its people irrespective of caste, creed, religion or sex". The paragraph on alleviating poverty --"Especially the Muslim community". Will spend more time later going through it. The right wing RSS will also do what they can to mess up things, just like the right wing conservatives in UK. |

"The non-Hindu people of Hindustan must either adopt Hindu culture and language, must learn and respect and hold in reverence the Hindu religion, must entertain no idea but of those of glorification of the Hindu race and culture ... In a word they must cease to be foreigners, or may stay in the country, wholly subordinated to the Hindu nation, claiming nothing, deserving no privileges, far less any preferential treatment not even citizens' rights." Re: In To-day's Newspapers
RSS crackpots. The problem with any organisation that owes its existence to this lot is that it provides a safe haven to any one as long as they make the the right noises and march in step. The RSS though are quite good at covering up past mistakes, ie Gandhi and in the past decade, pedophile activity by some of its members during its Nuremberg Rallies up and down the country. Sheila Dixshit banned them from parks in New Delhi 10 years ago for causing a public nuisance.I suppose in relative terms they are the equivalent of The Jesuits re Catholicism but without the education of course. Hinduism is such a broad church though and for any single organisation to claim to be the guardian of it is fascistic in the extreme, but then they are modeled on Hitlers Brown Shirts and look what happened to them in the end. Most of them are buried in Russia.

You cannot separate Modi from the The RSS due to the simple fact he is a member and has been all of his life since he was a little tea bag on a tea stall.

I wonder why in the UK, nationalism is praised 'Queen, Country, Christianity, the Church of England' etc. etc. but in India, posters on here seem to see it as a 'sin'. Isn't governance of the country the important thing? To make some headway out of poverty and corruption. India has a Constitution which the RSS cannot interfere with. What do you think of Congress "we have a birthright to rule"? Millions of Indian people are supporting Modi who are we to argue? Why your remarks about his humble origins? If they are wrong we will soon find out!!! http://bjpelectionmanifesto.com/ |
Re: In To-day's Newspapers
Cameron far right....! Thats got to be a joke Bipat. And as for the UK your living here and enjoying all the benefits of a secular society. Security of tenure, education for for your children. clean water and Tescos on a Sunday after 11am of course. Modi represents an ideology that on paper might look good but in reality will not work. We live in a global world and Nationalism, as in the BJPs manifesto where it defines what being a Hindu in India means is total nonsence. The BJPs biggest attraction is fear of globalisation and change. The BJP are very similar to the old Conservative party of Enoch Powel in that they want to stop the clock because they cannot imagine what's around the corner.Im not saying Congress are any good because they are not but at least they do see the future and the future is big business and sorry that means Tescos and walmart and all the rest.India has suffered behind tariff barriers long enough. The village mentality of the BJP will ruin her but i have a sneaky feeling that Modi has bitten of more than he chew this time. Its all very well preaching in Gujarat to the converted, but what if he fails to deliver the goods because industrialists dont trust him ?

Which page of the manifesto, is the definition of "what it means to be a Hindu in India"? I haven't been through it all yet!! Millions and millions disagree with your view including many of the major industrialists. He attracts crowds of supporters in areas without much previous BJP support. We will have to wait and see.:D PS Just read your further post. You Haven't read it !!!! so how can you quote? Wil try and find a better link. |
