There are quite a few men who come to Coco Beach and Candolim, on works outings, they are bused in. I doubt if they come very far, they certainly are ogglers.

What excuses Dread???? can you explain? Most Indian people would agree with your views.
Just pointing out that they are not the majority of Indian tourists.
Indian people men and women as I said travel all over India sightseeing and having a holiday just as you do.

And for the record : NOBODY has at any point suggested that this behaviour is applied by the majority of Indians....except you and your assumptions/accusations !!

It often sounds like it Dread, "The domestic tourists" often referred to.

"Majority of Indian tourists" are my words not "majority of Indians", I always refer to "Indian people" not "Indians". Just a querk of mine.

"Riff-raff" "Would harass any women if they thought they could get away with it", my words, hardly an excuse is it?

Can we not disagree without aggression?

PS It is a form of racism, as these ignorant types see foreigners behaving differently from their own female relatives as lesser beings.

The only reason it 'sounds like it' ............ is perhaps because you are looking for it ????????????? !! It has never been said at any time....
.....what has been reiterated time and again here is that there is a breed of domestic tourist, invariably male, usually in groups of males, who travel predominantly to North Goa and behave like scumbags with regard to behaviour drunkenness and personal habits, and molest and abuse women....that is fact, I have seen this and seen it aplenty.
Also stated is another breed of domestic tourist, most oft from Delhi or Mumbai, invariably the 'nouveau rich' youth, often mixed gender but equally same gender groups, whose behaviour also leaves much to be desired....they are almost the equivalent of the British 'lager lout'..... this is also fact, and I have seen this aplenty too.

But I reiterate...NOBODY has ever attributed the majority with abusing and assaulting women......except you ! Also Fact!

Calingute was full of, " Out of State Residents " last night perambulating along, some seem to be playing Crazy Golf, as they wandered the by ways and highways of our local Garden City. It gives me immense pleasure to test my driving skills as i weave in and out of the staggering crowds as they make their way to the coaches that will take them back to their rural idylls....God bless em every one....As for the leering, brown Y-fronters, on duty on the beach,well the most they have ever seen of the female form is probably snatched images of their sisters in the mirror or the wet T-shirts in those rubbishy Bollywood B flics they show in backwoods Karnataka.To put it mildly, if they leer at you take it as a compliment and show the other cheek, as they say.But as my sister said to me.One leer is OK ,two leers is pushing it and three is a smack in the mouth !

I don't know why you appear to be so hostile when we were in agreement. You are just repeating what I have said.

My original point was that those who spend their time mainly in North Goa may get a biased view of Indian tourists in general because the domestic tourists you describe will be the only ones that they see.

Now you are doing the very thing you are complaining about, Our place is in the north and although we see the louts described they are not the only domestic tourists we see. We quite often have very nice Indian families staying at our resort and we also meet nice families at the beach, mainly when our grandchildren are out as the children play together, we dont often go to the beach otherwise.

I am glad to hear you say that K800, we have not been to the North for years so can only imagine what it is like from what I read on the forum.

I would love to experience the many restaurants that are described (less good ones in the South) but we have been out off by all the stories, so usually don't venture further north after our Ponda visits.

Pleased to be able to enjoy all parts of Goa - the buzz of the North and the calm of the South - & all the more so, now that the 2 month out rule has been abolished.

Ponda??..haven't been there for years...... Is it worth a visit?:unsure::starsmile:

Leering is one thing PJ.......taking photos is quite another ........and actually closing in to a matter of a few feet away and standing over you whilst they leer is really pushing for a smack in the gob - especially if they don;t go away when asked !!

I have got to agree with PJ, K8, and Dread, please don't take it to heart Bipat they are speaking the truth.

The Delhi - Mumbai youngster are a breed of their own. Showing off, feet on tables in the shack, food everywhere, never use the ashtray, and loud :ohmy: You get the men just showing off, and often refusing to pay for food, just to show off. My husband used to say about the girls, "bet they would not wear those clothes infront of granny"

It is one of the reasons I stay away from the beach and even when I do go I sit in the shack and dont use the sunbeds. It must be awful for first time visitors from any western country, it is surprising that anyone comes back. I think if I was a first time visitor and that happened I would not go back.

How many times ????:D As I said to Dread---I believe you!! I agree.
The only point that I was trying to make was that they don't represent Indian tourists in general or all Mumbai youngsters for that matter (we do have a lot of extended family and friends there so know the normal sort also). Many Indian people would also be appalled by this behaviour. Is it wrong to make this point?
